$550 Budget Gaming Laptop. - Squishy - Jun 2, 2014

Title says it.
My birthday is here and I got around $600. I have a MacBook Pro which is fuckin horrible for gaming and is just expensive. I'm giving this to my cousin after I buy a proper gaming laptop.

My budget is $550, any recommendations?
Also i'm looking for new laptops, not used ones.

My first suggestion would be visiting Computer Hardware where people will be able to better help you. Just buy a PC, you won't get an amazing gaming laptop for $550.

As stated above, you won't get anything amazing for that price for a laptop.
May find a good deal on a used gaming laptop on ebay possibly.

Better to build a desktop gaming pc, but more than likely since you posted about a "gaming laptop", you're looking for one and not a Pc.

Sell the macbook, get more money off that and anything else you can sell, then buy yourself a decent gaming laptop.
The prices go fairly high on gaming laptops. I usually stay away from laptops period for gaming, but that's me.

This does have a touchscreen, but the specs are more than capable of handling games. It's $679. I'm sure you can find a similar laptop on newegg with similar specs for a bit cheaper.

I wouldn't give away my mac if I got a gaming PC.

All computers have their own purposes. Macbooks tend to startup faster, have better performance in terms of battery, and not burning a hole in your leg. I'd be willing to bet you'll regret giving it away as soon as you realise how slow a gaming PC really is outside of gaming performance.

Don't get me wrong - you can make any computer faster than another computer, but I find it to be easier on a mac :P

Gaming laptops can start at 1000,
you can get a laptop that cost around 800$ that works perfectly fine that works on 99% of the games

Really I would recommend a refurbished laptop since you only can spend $500. My friend have bought one and it works perfectly fine for around 2-3 years so far. But you should do research before buying a refurbished one though.
