I was just wondering if i go to the gigs section on craigslist and i find all the gigs i can do for people and i collect some emails (about a hundred maybe) then email them all the same message asking if it's still available, would that be considered spam and illegal? because i don't want to be doing something illegal. Thanks.

Well are you serious about your message? If yes, it's not illegal. No one will care about your "spam" if you write a mail to a few hundred addresses only.
A lot of things are illegal in theory..

So I don't have to worry about say $15,000 fine for each email if I send an email to a hundred people asking them if they've got someone for their gig yet?
Just don't want to end up ruining my life forever that's all.

Yes, but they have an email list of people who are subscribed to them.

But if you're that worried you may want to ask the same question in a forum about laws.
This is hackforums, were alot of people don't even care if what they're doing is illegal.
