Keeping my data safe. - BlackHoax - Jun 24, 2014

I'd like to know ways of keeping data on my computer safe. I know that with firefox you can just set up Master Password. And when they attempt to rat you or obtain your passwords they can't because of the Master passwords, but how would you do this in chrome? Also what key scramblers do you guys recommend to avoid keylogs.

Here's a keyscrambler that costs money but it is good: https://www.qfxsoftware.com/
I wouldn't necessarily recommend saving passwords in a browser just because an infiltrator can try to retrieve the stored passwords. Plus if you don't have them saved and type them with a keyscrambler, that's a good combo right there.

Keyscrambler and Zemana Anti-Keylogger are quite efficient keyscramblers. Unfortunately, Google Chrome is one of the only browser to not have a Master Password set for the saved passwords in it's browser, making them vulnerable to stealers. The best would be to never save your passwords in Google Chrome and flush them right now to avoid them being stolen by a stealer. OR, move to a more secure browser with a Master Password like Firefox.

I never really though of this but I was already using KeyScrambler and never save passwords, Guess I'm pretty safe ;)

Well issue is that Firefox randomly crashes in the shockwave player.

Start by resintalling the Shockwave Player and then reinstall Firefox if it still didn't work.

To be 100% safe, I just simply wouldn't save passwords to your browser, as said above. There are tools out there to brute force/other methods to discover the password you used, or keyloggers to show your password, or even the fact that someone may even be able to guess or just research to find out your MPWD.

So don't save passwords, use anti-keyloggers, have good security. If you have any sensitive files, then encrypt them. Use software like TrueCrypt (although apparently there is an issue with that), PGP, Toucan etc to encrypt your files or create encrypted partitions. Also make sure to SECURELY delete any sensitive information that you have no use for, simply emptying the recycle bin is not a secure deletion method, use a program like Eraser, FreeRaser etc.

Expertise: I have worked in the data security and destruction industry at an acute level.

Also, you can use BitLocker to encrypt your hard disk drive's files. This would work well, and make sure you use complex passwords and when you type them, do not type them on public computers.
