What makes a "Pro" hacker a "Pro" Hacker? - SIM-1858092 - Jun 29, 2014

Basically the title...

I know hackers overall use RAT programs.

What exactly do the "Pro" Hackers use, or more widely what do they use to hack(Besides a computer)?

Not all hackers use a RAT, some have never used them, Hacking is a wide area and different sections require different skills if you get me?
What I mean is hacking is not something simple, it takes a long time to become good and hours of reading is required.

Hackers use information to "hack". Using information to achieve a result with regards to the idea of making "something", be it a system, a program, a protocol etc do something that isn't intended.

If you're looking for tools that "skilled hackers" use, just use the search function.

I guess they basically know most of the topics to do with hacking? And they are a "Pro" at it? I don't know :?

🤣🤗🤣🤗

You clearly are mistaken here. RATs are highly unstable, pointless to real hackers, and simply a time waster.

A stable net is the better option and not all hackers use a net anyways. It's more of a gateway hobby IMO.

Pro hackers don't seek for attention. They're really usually really good at all types of hacking and they don't use programs like (RATS, Booters).

Nah, no need for tools... just curious on what you guys consider pro hackers, i have friends that say "I'm a Pro hacker" -- they know some batch... so it got me thinking what exactly is a "Pro" hacker... lol

Batch doesn't even count :| When your friends say they know batch, it means they spend 2 hours watching youtube videos on how to write a batch script, then try to send ICMP (ping) requests in a loop to their friends (which they never actually have the real external ip addresses of... usually their own default gateway).

Professional hackers spend 4 years in a BSc University program learning about different computer-related things. Networking, programming etc, they generally take over 18 courses in this. Afterwards they'll probably pick up a certification such as the OSCP, or CEH.

Ah, so your talking about the Ethical hackers that companies hire to test there networks and such. :)

You won't find anyone "Pro" here.. What makes a pro-hacker so advanced is that that person does not use pre-built tools with simple interfaces like a rat, they understand how systems work and function, they have highly advanced programming knowledge and as well as they know how to remove their digital footprints.

RAT's are very basic and anyone can use them.

That's not true... There are a lot of highly respectable hackers who are very smart and seek attention (usually how they get caught)..

A "professional" anything usually describes someone getting paid for a service or job. But, just because your friend paid you $5 or something to DDoS a computer doesn't make you a pro hacker.

To me, a professional hacker is one of 2 things:

White Hat Pro: Someone paid to remove viruses off of computers, or pentest, stress test, etc., because technically, a white hat hacker is a hacker on a different "mission" persay.

Black Hat Pro: Someone paid to gather information from one company for another company, or someone who simply infects several hundred computers to make a profit like a net, or maybe someone paid to do anything related to blackhat on a higher standard/higher pay. ALSO usually writes their own code, that's probably the number one thing. If you've ever heard about the people they recruit into the FBI and such, they're usually the kinds of hackers that write their own code for everything.

But all of this is just IMO and varies from person to person. 🤝

A hacker is someone who knows how to use his or her mind to think out of the box, and how to turn pizza into shell scripts. All humor aside, "hacker" is a broad term. A hacker thinks outside of the box in order to solve a problem. This is still rather broad. There are white-hat hackers, who are the "good guys" and then black-hat hackers, who are the "bad guys". Typically white-hat hackers are busy trying to root out all the evil things black-hat hackers do. I quote "good-guys" and "bad-guys" because in the end they're just waiting to get paid. White-hat guys are also pentesters, who make sure companies don't do silly things with their computer systems, as they often do.

So basically, a "Pro-hacker" would be someone who knows how to use his or her brain to solve these computer puzzles, like "How do I get into Alice's computer? What routes can I take?". It's all very coordinated and there's no magic tool to do it all for you.

My greatest suggestion is to set up two computers. Computer #1 is your attacker, computer #2 is your victim. Try to break into computer #2 without even touching it (Other than to turn it on. In some cases you don't even need to be there to turn it on, if you know your stuff.). Use Google to help you out, and HF is here, too.

Plugged in, maybe. Ever hear of WOL? (Wake on Lan)
You can boot up your computer from a magic packet sent over LAN.
