Thoughts on Gokukoku? - LionHeartLow - Jul 15, 2014

Is it just me or was that shit shockingly anti-climatic and rushed?

I get that he was going for the same feel that elfen lied had... but elfen lied had a lot more heart put into it... this felt like it was just a replay of the sexual frustration of Heavens Lost Property with some action and blood sprinkled around in there.

There was no real character development, other than "OH HEY I REMEMBER SHIT NOW" and the ending just seemed like the show got cut off short and they had to wrap it up.... I felt like there was supposed to be more of a battle, or at least some kind of twist, the ending was very flat and predictable... idk, it just didn't feel right at all.

What do you guys think?

I can agree with you that it felt a bit rushed but i kind of expected the ending because with elfen lied it was pretty much the same kind of effect of an ending just leaving off like that but thats just how Okamoto Lynn writes i suppose.
But even so i still really enjoyed it i'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys mystery/drama anime.

The ending for Elfen Lied had at least some satisfying closure. This just feels like it was trying to hard to achieve the same emotions from Elfen Lied, but it completely missed something... all the characters are there, the relationship dynamic is there, but something really vital is missing and I can't figure it out.
