Japanese Government to Start Anti-Anime/Manga Piracy Operation Next Month - Rinqt - Jul 30, 2014

Before you all cry, this is a good thing! many of you know and many of you don't but i am a big anime support from an economic point of view. This is needed otherwise we will be flooded with Low quality anime filled with fan service in order to raise funds.

Many legitimate manga and anime producers are heading towards making hentai or high fan service related content in order to make money so that they may produce decent anime. I know many of you like fan service but i for one don't want to live in a future where that is the only genre.

Also for those who dislike yaoi or boy love anime then you might want to start buying. boy love anime generates insane amount of sales per 1000 viewers compared to other genre. This is because females are more likely to buy products of anime then males are. this effect can be seen in most industries from anime to music. why do you think boy bands exist. Now i don't mind BL or yaoi anime however once again a future of just hentai or BL does not appeal to me.

This is why i think this is a good thing with low cost alternatives like crunchy roll subscription and hell funamation posts majority of their anime for free (subbed) the dub requires subscription.
There is really no excuses, 7 bucks a month for CR is not much i spend more then that on a coffee.

anyway i would like to hear all your opinions.

I like it, but I also don't like it.
I do pay for CR, however there are only 2 series I watch on there. All the other I should stream from other websites.

Wait til everyone in AA and /a/ hear about this. 😏

Hide yo' Anime's, Hide yo' Waifu's the Neko FBI's are comin.

* - NexPB - Jul 30, 2014

Its probably not even aimed at western anime sites but mainly chinese so i dont know why everyone thinks alot is going to happen, anyways i think anime in the west is now as big as it is because we are able to pirat so saying that their income will increase is bs.

what im saying is that people should be buying anime rather then dowloading. otherwise we will be left with shit...

No matter how much the Japanese government tries to lock down anime piracy, I just don't see it working very well. Granted that most anime originates within the country, here are many third-party sites that are hosted all over the world that the Japanese government will have a problem trying to shut down. If they instead decided to start censoring their users rather than shutting down the sites, there would be riots I'd imagine. Maybe the Japanese government should work on fixing things like child pornography and the national debt rather than things like this...

Meh, good luck to the Japanese government. I would like to still see some intense fan service.

I prefer streaming all my anime from Crunchyroll but when I sadly don't have that option I regularly go to other websites. But currently Crunchyroll has about 75% of all the airing anime that I'm watching.

* - Chips Ahoy McCoy - Jul 30, 2014

I use CR for basically everything that I watch. So I guess this doesn't affect me to much.

* - ๖Love - Jul 30, 2014

Wait so does that mean no more manga English subs?

* - Jay‌ - Jul 30, 2014

I will still download. Doesn't bug me one bit.

* - Kioshi - Jul 30, 2014

I'm really just too damn lazy to read all of that, anyone mind doing a "Long story short"?

That's 174 words too damn many for me. I would like to know, but I'm too lazy to read that.

I'll start buying anime when it isn't $60 for 4 episodes when they first come out.

I do have a CR sub, and buy figs/wallscrolls/other merch, but I can't justify the cost on how much the fuckin blu-rays cost.
