No internet after uninstalling Comodo - Retro× - Aug 10, 2014 So I guess I didn't uninstall Comodo Firewall correctly, though I used the uninstall tool that came with it. Does anyone here know how to fix this? Would be greatly appreciated, thank you. * - Antigen - Aug 10, 2014 Why do you think that something went wrong ? You might have uninstalled it correctly as because you used the tool given by Comodo. Edit: Thanks for adding "No internet after uninstalling Comodo" * - Retro× - Aug 10, 2014 (Aug 10, 2014 02:31 PM)Antigen Wrote: Why do you think that something went wrong ? I really hope that's the case, because if not I have absolutely no idea wha's wrong. * - Bob White - Aug 10, 2014 This happen to me too. I ended up reformatting. Good luck to you. * - Ryan Cleary - Aug 10, 2014 Here you go, this should fix it: https://forums.comodo.com/install-setup-configuration-help-cis/uninstaller-tool-for-comodo-products-t71897.0.html * - Antigen - Aug 10, 2014 Let's reset Internet connection. 1. Click on Start button. 2. Type Cmd in the Start Search text box. 3. Right click cmd and select "Run as administrator" to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request. 4. Type "netsh int ip reset c:\netreset.txt" in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key. 5. Restart the computer. The command will remove all user configured settings on TCP/IP stack and return it to original default state by rewriting pertinent registry keys that are used by the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stack to achieve the same result as the removal and the reinstallation of the protocol. * - Retro× - Aug 10, 2014 None of the above worked and my recovery disc is at my friends house. This is going to be a long week .. Thanks anyways guys. * - Antigen - Aug 10, 2014 (Aug 10, 2014 03:10 PM)Gallium Wrote: None of the above worked and my recovery disc is at my friends house. Feel free to Post/PM if anything comes up. * - Aura - Aug 10, 2014 May I give a try now ? 😝 OP, download and execute MiniToolBox. Check ALL the cases till List Installed Programs (check this one as well) and click on Go. Once done, copy/paste the content of the output log on Pastebin and post the link. * - Retro× - Aug 10, 2014 (Aug 10, 2014 04:52 PM)Aurа Wrote: May I give a try now ? 😝It's a bit tedious installing programs and uploading logs because I have to use my phone to download the installer and upload the logs, but I'll definitely do this when I get back from school tomorrow. Thanks Aura. Edit: It would be easier if I did this right now. http://pastebin.com/eA5u2hTG * - Aura - Aug 10, 2014 (Aug 10, 2014 06:12 PM)Gallium Wrote: It's a bit tedious installing programs and uploading logs because I have to use my phone to download the installer and upload the logs, but I'll definitely do this when I get back from school tomorrow. Thanks Aura. It's a simple stand alone application, no installation required 🙂 * - Xycon - Aug 10, 2014 This is actually the reason I stopped using Comodo firewall about 6 years ago. Updating it/installing it/re-installing it/repair. All fucks up your connection, and being a bitch to fix. Was working fine before, but ever since they renewed the interface and what not back then it became a huge pain in the ass and just not worth it compared to other programs out there. Never liked the program anymore after that. Don't know much about it these days, but things apparently haven't improved much. * - Retro× - Aug 14, 2014 Still haven't resolved the problem. * - coco69 - Aug 14, 2014 comodo usally changes your dns settings for their own try using google dns servers I believe they are 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 * - Aura - Aug 14, 2014 (Aug 14, 2014 03:42 PM)Static1120 Wrote: comodo usally changes your dns settings for their own These are the correct servers. There's also a documentation on how to proceed here : https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using?hl=fr |
