SSL images & one idea about SSL - Loki123 - Aug 11, 2014 I was going to use SSL but seems like the images do not show up nor does the CSS style show up. Hard refresh does not change it ether (Clear cache) Image (Click to View) 3 browsers, the same issue. Firefox in the left top corner, otter-browser to the right and Chromium at the bottom. Also wanted to suggest that instead of making users use SSL on there own by typing https:// to add option in User CP to force the site to use SSL instead so the URL will automatically changed to https when trying to visit http links. * - Aura - Aug 11, 2014 You can use "HTTPSEverywhere" to force the HTTPS on the website. I use it at Google Chrome at work (as I can't browse HF in HTTP, it's blocked) and it works flawlessly. I'm sure there's this addon from Chromium and there is for Firefox too. One issue solved. For the HTTPS support, Omni said that he wont implement it I think. Been suggested and denied many time. * - Loki123 - Aug 11, 2014 (Aug 11, 2014 02:43 PM)Aurа Wrote: You can use "HTTPSEverywhere" to force the HTTPS on the website. I don't want to add plugins to my browsers and Otter-Browser doesn't (yet) have support for plugins. * - Builder_Geeza - Aug 11, 2014 (Aug 11, 2014 02:44 PM)Loki123 Wrote: I don't want to add plugins to my browsers and Otter-Browser doesn't (yet) have support for plugins. Then from what I understand, it just wouldn't be able to work. * - Cryptic™ - Aug 11, 2014 I'd like to see Full HTTPS support on HF, even though we don't really need it. Google started ranking HTTPS sites with more priority. * - Roger Waters - Aug 11, 2014 The HTTPS version of the site isn't supposed to have any of the CSS styles or images to make the site look pretty. For some reason this gets suggested once every few weeks, but for whatever reason people forget that we have a search feature to search for threads that have similar topics or ideas. There really isn't a point on implementing SSL since you aren't putting sensitive data such as credit card numbers or bank information into the site. You can read Omni's replies to threads suggesting this here, here, and here. |
