How much HTML could I learn in 6 months? - Zealot - Aug 20, 2014

If I spent 6 months learning to code in HTML, maybe working on it 6 hours a day. Could I know it like the back of my hand?

HTML is pretty easy... It's not really cosidered a language... I suggest you to try PHP and in six month you can learn a lot!

You could know HTML very well in 6 months, that is if you actually put effort into learning it. It isn't considered an actual programming language and it is fairly simple to learn. Good luck!

Could you explain what PHP is used for? And what you can do with it?

HTML is easy, go for another programming language!

Depends upon your ability to learn and retain information, but then again HTML is easy, so you won't even need 6 months to learn it. Learn HTML and CSS, there's no doubt in my mind you will encounter CSS in your HTML endevours.

HTML is easy. CSS can be quite difficult if you get into CSS3 and responsive design though.

Almost every website is coded in PHP, for example HF, FB, Twitter (with some other codings aswell), my website, Youtube...

It is the most powerfull web programming language and it's awesome :D

Alright.

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is not a programming language. It is a markup language as the title says, there's no logic behind it, it's just markup. So you need to know the marks (I think that's how its called in English, I'm unsure though), where to apply them, how and which result will you get, once you know that you're done, and it's fairly easy.

You will also be learning CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) which is a style sheet language, used to personalize your page.

You will be looking to learn also JavaScript, this is a client-side scripting language and will work at the client-side interacting with your user and making a false feeling of a dynamic page.

PHP is a back-end programming language, different from the other three who work on the front-end(which user sees). It interacts with the database, makes back-end work in general.

This is the set of languages you need to learn for web development. And yes in 6 months with 6 hours of work a day you'll be an average web developer luckily.

You can learn alot in 6 months, or very little in 6 months. It depends on how much you want to know that shit dude.

You could learn pretty much everything there is to know in HTML in 6 months or even less.
Once you have the HTML basics, learn CSS.
