Securing my Thumb-drive - DireWolf™ - Aug 22, 2014

Can anyone recommend a good way to protect my Thumb-drive?
Best way to secure the data but easy to access.

Password protection software?

You can use BitLocker (encryption) on your USB pendrive if your version of Windows supports it :

Thanks for the recommendation but I think my version does not have Bitlocker.
Any other recommendations?

I'm running on Windows 7 but I don't see the option to use BitLocker.

Just plain old Windows 7, it's a 64 bit.

There's no "plain old Windows 7". It's either Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise.

I believe it's Starter. But does anybody know another way?

Right-click on Computer and select Properties. It's going to be written there.

Right, so BitLocker isn't included in that edition.
You could always use TrueCrypt, but you'll need a computer that have TrueCrypt in order to access that pendrive too.

I use what Aura refereed, it worked very well for me but then again there will be problems if your pc doesn't support it

Best thing to do is use Bitlocker tbh, I've used it for ages. You could carry around a portable version of Truecrypt on your USB so you can unlock it wherever you are and unlock a hidden folder within the USB
