Boot mgr is missing (Win7 wont boot) - ShadyOverflow - Aug 22, 2014

hey guys, i have a problem with my laptop, it wont boot up,
first of i get the problem because i installed linux mint 17 OS and i think i fucked up the boot option..

before this, i was getting error something like "please insert a bootable device".. what ive done was going on windows 7 recovery mode, and im able to go back on windows that way.. then i removed a extended partition in disk manager i had on which it was installed the linux OS.. then i restart the PC, now im getting error "Boot mgr is missing", why? in bios i have selected boot from hard drive (legacy mode) and in my computer>disk manager, C is Bootable disk..
so why? i reviewed the bios 1000 times, everything is how it should be...

right now im on recovery mode, which allows me to go back on Windows 7. but i want to make this work properly, not everytime to select recovery mode..

If you do have a Windows Installation CD, put it in and boot in to CD. And selext Repair Boot Problems.

If you are in the Recovery PE (Recovery Mode), you'll have the option to use "Repair Start up Automatically". Wait for the scan to complete and then restart. IF it doesn't work, boot back in Recovery Mode, open the command prompt and enter these commands :

Code
bootmgr /fixboot
bootmgr /fixmbr

Once done, restart and see what it gives.

I will like to know how from recovery mode you can start the Windows 7 OS also when you say Recovery Mode are you talking about System Recovery Options if yes still like to know how you can start the Windows 7 OS.

System Recovery Options

True.
Because even if he was to boot in Safe Mode, the bootmgr is still required.
