A DDoS'ing question! (Beginner) - mivx - Aug 23, 2014

Hey everyone!
I am new to "hacking" and i have to say, i am really fascinated by it! Anyways, im learning DDoS'ing right now and im soon trying it for the first time, but i have'nt found if it is traceable and if so, how can i make it untraceable? Thanks for taking your time to read this 🙂 -mivx

You should get a VPN, a VPN is a program that hides your IP so your untraceable but Im not a prof and Im not sure but I suggest you to download a VPN here, here is a link to an VPN http://www.cyberghostvpn.com/en

[censored] is great for free, but you should look for a paid VPN that doesn't keep logs.

* - mivx - Aug 23, 2014

Thanks for all the answers, i downloaded CyberGhosts, so am i good to start DDoS'ing now?

DDoS itself can't really be learned. You can, however get into networking and the way packets are sent.
DDoS scripts exploit the way some packets work to take down 'servers'.
For example, SYN is a 3 way handshake protocol.
They open a connection and say hello to the server,
the server says hello back, but the script doesn't start a conversation and just shuts up.
Making it awkward for the server.
The server waits for a response and after a longer time the server gives up on the packet.

This is known as a Layer 4 attack in the TCP/IP model.

Like I said, this is networking rather then hacking
Read more about the methods here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_protocol_suite

If you want to just take down a simple server that really get into hacking, I suggest purchasing a booter or stresser.
One I personally suggest is: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4407021
Vital Stresser is a stresser which I personally have helped code & fix.
It's power is 100% true and you'll find it quite a powerful stresser.

On top of this, DDoS means Distributed Denial of Service. It's basically waiting at a train stop with 1000's of people.
Train arrives and only one door opens. 1000 people will have to go through 1 door.

I suggest you learn about a few simple things before getting into actual DDoS, because not only is it quite hard,
it's also illegal if you don't have permission to test that server. You can be traced, and will be jailed if done wrong.

If you want to know how to DDoS and to use a free DDoS client (Booter/Stresser) then check my thread out https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4409419

Most booters out on the market are untraceable, meaning the target will will get nowhere when trying to trace an attack. A logless VPN is highly recommended for an extra layer of anonymity.

Thanks for all the answers! it really helped me out. :)

A DDoS is untraceable by itself, because you're not sending requests but the server is.
People who trace you will come at the server (website), not you.

However, you still visits the website + booters log your IP, that's why you need a VPN to provide more anonymity.
But actually, Tor (which isn't a VPN but a network) is more secure as any VPN!

Specs || VPN | Tor
------
Logs: || Yes | No
Speed: || Fast | Bit Slower
Safety: || Low | High
Encryption: || Yes | Yes, multiple
Servers: || 1 | multiple
Price: || most paid | Free

Why people think Tor isn't safe:
"NSA logs who download Tor" - Use a proxy while downloading.
"Tor servers keep logs" - Not true, only a few who are controlled by the NSA. And if they keep logs it's unlikely they can decrypt your data, if they can decrypt it they only know what you're doing (request you send to websites etc), not who it is doing (you're location is still safe).
"Tor browser is back-doored" - It's open-source, disable JavaScript + route your data through the original Firefox then.
"Tor can get cracked" - View all answers above + only version 2.2 was known to be able to get cracked.

Tor is much, much more safe.
http://torproject.org
And free as well.

[censored] 5 is the best free VPN anyway. ;)

Also, DDoS'ing isn't really hacking. ;-)

How the hell do you learn DDoS.
Just use a spoofed attack booter, gosh.
Or use a VPN.

Bro, I see you writing essays on every thread on the beginner hacking haha.
👍

^Yeah, I'm trying to do the same in the Linux, cryptography, web-hacking,and pentesting section but those are harder. :)
Beginner Hacking Section is my favourite section though.

Nothing is ever untraceable and if you are seriously planning in DOSing somebody invest in a quality paid VPN service that doesn't keep logs like [censored].

* - Nootropic - Aug 23, 2014

VPN is not safe, I would recommend a combination with Socks.

I've been slacking off lately but I fully agree with you.
Even though some questions come up way too often,
I still spend quite a bit of time writing a long & detailed reply :P
I'm almost at 666 posts in beginner hacking section.

I 2nd this.

I always say that free = less quality.

So if you're getting tools you may as well get quality ones.

Welcome to the world of hacking noobie. Have fun :)
