how can I silently copy files from flash drive to hdd automatically? - relink2013 - Sep 2, 2014 Hello everyone, new here and hoping to accomplish something that should be simple. I have 2 folders on a flash drive, how can I go about having those folders automatically copied to any computers hdd silently when the drive is plugged in. and then add a shortcut to the 2 executable in the folders to the windows start up folder? How can I go about doing this so that I can plug the flash drive into a computer, the folders copy over, the 2 programs start, and then an entry is created in the startup folder, all without me having to do anything. Basically Plug the drive in, wait 10seconds, and pull it back out, and it's all done. * - JuiceProductions - Sep 2, 2014 There's was a thread about this but you have to look around without people helping you sometimes.Ill look for it though * - relink2013 - Sep 2, 2014 Ill try to dig a little harder then. I wasn't sure what exactly to search for so all my searches came up with nothing. I'll keep searching, though any help is greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be completely automated, from what I have found that wont work on anything newer than XP, unless i'm mistaken. If I could at least create a bat file that can do it that would be fine, I can manage double clicking a bat or exe if needed, I can even muster up the strength to click yes on a UAC dialog if necessary. lol * - Niely - Sep 2, 2014 https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4354871 Code [autorun]In yourbat.bat you include some xcopy commands or whatever and you're good to go! :D * - rheostat - Sep 3, 2014 I think theres a program called hidden flash card coppier * - poxchukka - Sep 3, 2014 (Sep 3, 2014 01:32 AM)rheostat Wrote: I think theres a program called hidden flash card coppier There is a free demo with limitations then you pay $35!! In windows, you could use robocopy. And by the way ๖ۣۜNiely, xcopy is deprecated, and robocopy works better. here's the documentation of robocopy. You could integrate it into ๖ۣۜNiely's script so that it does the function you need. http://ss64.com/nt/robocopy.html * - Niely - Sep 3, 2014 ^RoboCopy is indeed another option, but XCopy also just works. :) Doesn't really matter. * - SysAdmin - Sep 3, 2014 I thought Windows7 had autorun disabled? * - horstfuchs - Sep 3, 2014 (Sep 3, 2014 04:45 AM)Phobius™ Wrote: I thought Windows7 had autorun disabled? You need U3 USB key. I think any key can be formated to U3 partitions but dunno if it works 100%. |
