Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge 1st Look! - Gladly - Sep 3, 2014 Samsung fanboys rejoice as two new Samsung devices were unveiled today. The Galaxy Note 4, and a newcomer I wasn't expecting, the Galaxy Note Edge, were both shown at IFA 2014. Both have nearly identical specs, except for one... weird spec on the Note Edge: it's screen dimensions. The screen extends to the side of the phone in some new gimmick Samsung is trying. What do you think of these new devices? I for one am loving the QHD AMOLED displays. These videos did a good first look at the devices: Galaxy Note 4: Specs [US] Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 16MP camera 1440 x 2560 pixels, 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display 3200 MaH battery Kit Kat v4.4.4 Full Specs Here Galaxy Note Edge: Specs [US] Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 16MP camera 1600 x 2560 pixels, 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display 3000 MaH battery Kit Kat v4.4.4 Full Specs Here * - Wᴀᴄᴋᴏ - Sep 3, 2014 The Note Edge looks weird, but also seems extremely convenient. It brings way more functionality to notifications. I'd buy it. * - Gladly - Sep 3, 2014 (Sep 3, 2014 06:03 PM)Wᴀᴄᴋᴏ Wrote: The Note Edge looks weird, but also seems extremely convenient. The only issue I see with a screen like this is even lightly dropping the phone on it's side and having your notification screen cracked. * - Truth - Sep 3, 2014 Is the Note 4 water proof like the Samsung Galaxy s5? If not I wont be getting it and prob will get the Sony Z3 * - CyanogenMod - Sep 4, 2014 I honestly don't like the look or functionality of the Note Edge, I personally feel it would be more bothersome than helpful. But that's just my opinion. * - Nicole Mejia - Sep 4, 2014 the edge looks really cool, i like how they have specific programming just for the edge * - her0. - Sep 4, 2014 Very interesting concept, loving the curved glass but can have its downside as it's more easily breakable if dropped at its side :( * - Tranquility - Sep 4, 2014 It didn't surprise me as they showed us this last year. * - Onіx - Sep 4, 2014 The Edge only has a 3000mAh battery, not the 3200 that the Note has. Also, the CPU is dependant on market. Some versions will get the 4+4 core Exynos. Would be worth adding the Gear S to the OP as well. Anyway, great thread, I'm just looking forward to see if I want to get the Moto 360, if not then the circular G Watch is what I'll get. * - Gladly - Sep 4, 2014 (Sep 4, 2014 11:56 AM)Onіx Wrote: The Edge only has a 3000mAh battery, not the 3200 that the Note has. I'm also a fan of the 360's design, although I'm not sure if I'm ready to invest in a smart watch this year. I'll probably wait it out until the next generation. * - The Masturbator - Sep 5, 2014 (Sep 3, 2014 06:22 PM)TryAgain Wrote: Is the Note 4 water proof like the Samsung Galaxy s5?
