Just started learning JAVA, any tips? - R҉eece҉ - Sep 4, 2014 Hey! I have decided to change paths from web development to Java. Its really damn fun, just so different. Anyone have any tips or tricks for beginners or have a nice clean beginner java learning site? Thanks. * - Sausis - Sep 4, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/user/TheChernoProject - learn the basics of java http://www.youtube.com/user/thebennybox - 3d stuff http://it-ebooks.info/book/805/ - very good book * - I'm not a Robot - Sep 4, 2014 I am just learning java too, I am using: https://www.Udemy (warez disallowed).com It has a lot of free video courses on java which are easy to follow along i'm also reading a few ebooks. * - Evoked - Sep 4, 2014 I used Udemy (warez disallowed) and I'm now using a book called "Starting out with Java: From control structures to data constructors" By Tony Gaddis. I personally think that the book has helped me more than anything. * - GhostHacks96 - Sep 4, 2014 Im A Java Dev, Id be willing to give lessons pm me if your interested * - ۤMD5 - Sep 4, 2014 Java is a fun language to program in. I'd you don't have it already, get eclipse. Succes! * - Elite Hacker 69 - Sep 4, 2014 this site is really good for any language just learning the basics even though it's all math based https://projecteuler.net/ edit: I just remembered I compiled this list of websites a while ago, some are dead but some work. I was looking primarily for python stuff, but some of them work for anything. I posted a thread with them a couple months ago but nobody replied, hopefully you will find them useful.

I don't think it is possible to learn any language in a month 😝 there is always something to learn * - R҉eece҉ - Sep 4, 2014 (Sep 4, 2014 04:01 PM)b r i a n Wrote: I don't think it is possible to learn any language in a month 😝 there is always something to learn Yeah its almost impossible to learn everything but I meant the basic, being able to understand programming. * - Annointed - Sep 5, 2014 Also as a tip, not just for java, but for programming in general, your naming conventions should be camel cased? If that's what it's called. Ex. String firstName So your first letter of the first word would be minimized, and the beginning letter of each new word should be in capital. This is just for cleaner code and it's easier to read. * - JavaCoderz - Sep 6, 2014 (Sep 5, 2014 12:44 PM)Annointed Wrote: Also as a tip, not just for java, but for programming in general, your naming conventions should be camel cased? If that's what it's called. Mhm, Java's code/naming conventions. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/codeconventions-135099.html * - Unaffiliated - Sep 6, 2014 I just started learning java with this book I bought I think you would really enjoy it here is the link to it on Google books https://play.google.com/store/books/details/Ian_Cinnamon_Programming_Video_Games_for_the_Evil_?id=oEVZjqYSJrcC * - R҉eece҉ - Sep 6, 2014 Thanks everyone. I think ill purchase that book later on and the naming conventions helped a lot! * - Rolex⠀ - Sep 6, 2014 teamtreehouse.com is really nice if your looking for like Android java programming.
