Eminem is a rap-artist, actually the best-selling artist of the decade and has had big multi-award winning albums such as the MMLP and The Eminem Show. He started his true studio career in 1996 and sings hip-hop/rap songs, either solo, in a duo (i.e. with Royce Da 5'9" as he is part of Bad Meets Evil), or in a group/band, D12. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review Lyrics: His lyrics are just fucking amazing. The guy used to and pretty sure he still does, read the dictionary daily to improve his vocabulary. He doesn't rap about girls and money like your average rapper, such as Chief Keef does. Instead, Marshall takes his emotions that he keeps inside and lets them into his song, exposing them to the whole world, in order to open up. Performance: I have never actually been to one of his live concerts or anything, but would love to one day. I've seen the videos and they are amazing. I love a lot of his music videos and how he acts in them, in order to better understand the song. Background: Shady got all his ideas for rap from his childhood, that was bitter because of his father that left when he was only a couple of months old, and his drug-addict mother who was let's just say, pretty bad compared to your average mother. But again, if none of these ever took place, he would never rap, and the world never hear of an "Eminem" and he has acknowledged this many times in his songs such as "Airplanes Part II" Originality: All his music and content is 100% original. It's all his own ideas and he writes his own songs. I even remember seeing some of his original work photocopied in his book, The Way I Am, when I read it. There were lyrics all over the paper showing that he was just brainstorming the whole song with paper and his mind. Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] [No] Review I've listened to all three of BIG's albums and he may not have used many metaphors or punchlines but his lyrical skills were smooth when it came to story-telling and using his craft to vividly depict real scenarios of his life, It is something that in my opinion only a handful of Hip Hop artists have ever managed to accomplish within the history of Urban music. Production-wise you can really tell Biggie had a good ear when it came to building & constructing songs, All of his music is extremely melodic with that bassy/gritty break-beat feel to them; Even his smooth singles such as 'Big Poppa' while R&B'ish at the same time they have a strong 'street' vibe to them. I never got to personally see Biggie's performance however from what i've seen on documentaries & Youtube Videos you can tell the vibe he emitted was explosive, His performances appeared to be very energetic and action-packed; Christopher was definitely very passionate about his craft. What i most admire about Biggie is the fact that he would always touch on controversial subjects with his music such as infidelity, his dispute with other artists, street life, life at home, selling drugs etc. his songs would often encourage listeners who might have been in the same situation or living the same life he did to not do certain things in order to succeed in the illegal business; such as his famous EP: 10 Crack Commandments. "Take a better stand. Put money in my moms hand. Get my daughter this college plan, so she don’t need no man." ~Biggie Sid Diamond by Rayzah Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Reason I chose a New Zealand artist is because none of you will know about him. Who is Sid Diamond? Sid Diamond is a rap-artist, who is from New Zealand and was founded in 2005 when he created a hip hop group with 2 other local New Zealand artists called "Smashproof" the other members in this group were Deach and Tyree. Sid Diamond is known to sing with other artists and also is a great solo artist. Details Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Heck Yes] [No] Review I have followed Sid Diamond since he made his first album "The Truth", he is a lyrical genius and makes me proud that he is from my country. Lyrics: His lyrics are definitely something to look back on life too. He isn't like most rappers this day and rapping out woman, cars, clothes, partying. Sid Diamond raps about life, family, growing up and gives true meaning to the songs so the listeners can actually see where he is coming from. You can tell he is very into his lyrics as you can tell they are coming from the heart and if you lived in New Zealand, especially the part he grew up in, you would know that he would have had it hard. Performance: Never been to one of his live concerts or performances but if I ever had the chance, I would jump at it. I have seen videos of live performances, and even his music videos you feel like you are apart of them to give you a better view on where he is coming from when you hear the lyrics. His music videos match the lyrics as he shows you what he means e.g seeing kids fighting in the street/drug dealing and him looking back on them. Background: Sid Diamond was first attracted to the rap and hiphop industry when he heard his brothers cover of "NWA - Gangsta Gangsta". From then he was apart of a rap group called "The Murda Squad" at the age of eleven he had made his first song with this group. His first solo debut was when he released his album "The Truth" in the year 2007 on Move the Crowd which features a special appearance by rapper Chamillionaire. In his early rapping days, Sid would record over in New York and make tracks ready to be release to the charts, many of them being produced in the foreign country of Croatia. To this day he still travels to different countries to make music videos. One of his latest songs "Speakers Blown" shows him in Cuba. You see in his earlier music he is more of a thug looking rapper, but years later he now raps from the heart, not saying he didn't in the earlier stages but his music is much more ear catching now. What I most admire about this artist is the fact that, yeah he had a hard life and upbringing, but he shares that will all of his fans and listeners by putting in into lyrics and creating songs about them. He is very open minded and I hope you guys enjoy this review. I will leave you with a song that is very meaningful and sad at the same time. * - Eeluminati - Sep 20, 2014 ![]() Bruno Mars by Autocorrect Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Bruno Mars? Bruno Mars is one of the most popular and talented pop artists of the past decade, and has released internationally-renowned albums such as Doo-Wops & Hooligans and Unorthodox Jukebox, featuring explosive tracks including Grenade, Just The Way You Are, and Treasure. He launched his music career by signing a contract with Travie McCoy, featuring in McCoy's "Billionaire" in 2010, which put him in the international spotlight, which led to the release of albums and singles in consecutive years up to and including 2014. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review In 2011, I first heard Bruno Mars' "Grenade", which first had me interested in his music. Since then, Hernandez has released track after track of powerful, meaningful music, which has been heard by hundreds of millions of listeners internationally. His lyrics are always emotional and personal, a talent which many musicians appear to be adopting these days. From this quote, we can see that Hernandez likes to develop music which is new to the industry, and has the ability to be consistent and persistent in achieving goals set through trial & error. Since his introduction to music, he has seen success through partnering up with successful artists, offering his beautiful vocal abilities to various singers and songwriters. Music produced by Bruno Mars usually begins to trend quickly - he is an artist which has the ability to promote music with little effort. His presence in the music industry has yet to be matched by others in his genre. With hundreds of millions of international fans, he has seen a lot of success for less than four years of professionally produced music. Nonetheless, his quality of music is not diminished in any way. It should be noted that he sets a model for the younger generation to follow. In his music videos, he is often seen as an honest, compassionate man who cares about those around him, and of course, sets a goal for aspiring musicians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjhCEhWiKXk MC Ride by inxy Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() ![]() Who is MC Ride? MC Ride is an American rapper and painter, best known for his lead vocals in the experimental hip hop group Death Grips from 2010 to 2014. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review Known for his loud & aggressive vocals in the experimental hip hop group Death Grips, MC Ride is an extremely talented rapper with many unique characteristics. Prior to his music career, Ride studied visual arts at Hampton University in Virginia. After dropping out, he began his first experimental hip hop group with his brother. Working at a pizza restaurant with a limited income, Ride perused his career as a painter. In 2010, Ride formed Death Grips with his neighbor Zach Hill. They released their debut album Exmilitary in 2011, which received critical acclaim and widespread attention from music critics. The band has released 5 albums over the past 4 years. MC Ride's age is unknown and has been described as "reclusive" and "super private" by his bandmate Zach Hill. Tyga by 'Cinnamon Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Tyga Tyga, or Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson is an American rapper who has been in the rapping scene since 2007. His stage name Tyga stands for Thank You God Always. He produces rap and hiphop, and is currently signed to Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, Republic Records, and Last Kings. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? Yes, if the friend we're speaking of has no problem with songs that are about mainstream topics. Review I've been listening to Tyga since 2008. I still remember playing Need For Speed: Undercover and hearing his song "Diamond Life." If we're being honest about his lyrics, it really depends. He actually has good lyrics in some of his songs, but in others, it's garbage. There are songs where he raps about his past, which have the better lyrics, but there are also songs where it's just about money. His performance on stage is decent. I've seen a few videos on youtube, but it's nothing too special, really. Some of his clips are well thought out and enjoyable to watch. One of those clips would be the music video of Dope, featuring Rick Ross. Tyga was born, and grew up in Los Angeles. He is a descendant of a Vietnamese and Jamaican family. During his career, Tyga has had some legal issues too. He was charged multiple times for sexual battery and invasion of privacy. Mostly due to releasing unedited versions of songs where nudity was shown. Tyga had a relationship with Blac Chyna, and has one son with her. After the child was born, Tyga purchased a $6.5 million mansion. They broke up in August 2014. * - Eeluminati - Sep 20, 2014 ![]() G-Eazy by Abide Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() ![]() Who is G-Eazy? G-Eazy is a rapper from San Francisco, California. He has a dapper style which makes him different from other artists. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? Yes Review I have been listening for over 2 years and I have enjoyed his music since I first heard "Marilyn." A huge part of why I love G-Eazy is because of his style. G-Eazy looks very classy and dapper, and he sounds educated when he raps unlike other rappers. Also, when listening to G-Eazy's songs, you will notice how great his beats sound. G-Eazy consults with DJ Carnage, and even if you don't like his witty verses, I am sure you will love the flow of the music. G-Eazy started becoming popular after his song "Waspy." Soon after he released his mixtape "The Endless Summer" and it exploded. G-Eazy is getting more attention every day, and I know more people will enjoy his music. Mac Demarco by Redwall Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Mac Demarco? Mac Demarco is a Canadian singer who is known for his chill and relaxing indie rock. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review I've been listening to Mac Demarco for a year now and his music keeps progressing and sounding better. His latest work "Salad Days" is off the charts and a true banger. Most of his music is very chill and when he performs live it's a mellow type of crowd but could also be very energetic. Mac Demarco has done many crazy things on stage that I won't be able to state here. Mac Demarco is currently under the label of "Captured Tracks" and I have visited the label which is located in Brooklyn, New York. It's a nice shop and very professional. My favorite song by Mac is Chamber of reflection. Every single music video he has made is unique and funny. I would recommend anybody to give Mac a listen. Calvin Harris by BennK Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() ![]() Who is Calvin Harris Calvin Harris is a Scottish born DJ and music producer, he is also a singer and song writer. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review I've been listening to Calvin harris for years now, I only really got into his specific (and many other DJ's like him) music style within the last year though. I can confidently say that anyone who is into this style of music (Dance, EDM) will enjoy Calvin Harris. His most famous Album "18 Months" Had 8 Songs that all reached the top 10 Charts. Songs: [sp] Bounce, Feel So Close, Let's Go, Thinking about you, I need your love, Sweet nothing, Drinking from the bottle and my Favorite We'll be coming back Not only does he just produce music with other famous artists but he is also a singer. This summer (2014) His big realeas "Summer" Which I'm sure you've heard was the most streamed song of 2014 summer. Calvin Harris is the sole producer and singer of this song. Calvin is the top paid DJ in the world and it doesnt come as a surprise to me, So many people love his music, lyrics, you name it. My favorite song from him (We'll be coming back) is still one of my favorite songs ever, gets me pumped 😈 . I'd seriously recommend listening to him if you never had and give his music a try out, I cant guarantee you'll like it but if you do, you really do! 🤫 Enjoy! 🤗 http://youtu.be/SHO3dE-IDWk * - Eeluminati - Sep 20, 2014 ![]() Zedd by Fox™ Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() ![]() Who is Zedd? Zedd is an EDM producer, born in Germany. He's been active for the past twelve years. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review Considerably a DJ, Zedd's rhythms and all of his songs are very unique, and not one is the same. He started out remixing songs, and slowly made his way up into making his own work. I've got a lot of family who are fans of Zedd, and frankly, his music is great. He's quite original with all of his songs and remixes, and it can't be denied that he's talented at what he does. He's made it to the top charts frequently. My personal favorite is 'Find You (ft. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)' and his collab with Ariana Grande 'Break Free'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ek3WMM7I-0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vFLW-idOxk Nicki Minaj by Greatest Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Nicki Minaj? Onika Tanya Maraj or more known by her stage name Nicki Minaj is a female rapper, song writer and actress. She has been on the rise to fame ever since she signed to Young Money records in 2009, however she was first noticed in 2007 whilst producing mix tapes. Her debut album 'Pink Friday' peaked at number one on the US Billboard top 100. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? Yes Review I've been listening to Minaj for years now. At times she does release stupid content however when she releases something in seriousness it turns out to be very good. She has a unique music style which is different to most female artists these days which makes her music different and enjoyable. Her voice is nice hence why she produces different types of genres including hip hop, r&b and pop. She might not be everyones cup of tea but I can guarantee there are few songs that everyone would like. Machine Gun Kelly by Cooligan Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Machine Gun Kelly? MGK is a rapper from Cleveland, Ohio. He started to gain fame after his first tour Stamp of Approval in 2006. He lived his first 3 years in Egypt and because of that, he learned how to speak Arabic before English. His trademark is his "Lace Up" symbol you make with your pointer finger and thumb. ( Click here to see ) MGK is a surviving heroin addict with a few songs dedicated to that era of his life like, Lead You On (my favorite song). MGK was signed by Jimmy Iovine and Diddy to Interscope and Bad Boy Records on August 3, 2011. Shortly after that he released his first studio album Black Flag and is in the process of making his next. MGK is the guy you want to listen to for all the different genre's of rap. He is without a doubt a musical genius with his various flows, freestyles, remixes, and of course his original songs. If you're the type of person to really get into what the artist is saying, especially rap, MGK is the artist for you. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] (I have, and now that person is almost a big of fan of him as I am.) Review As I said earlier, MGK is a musical genius, he really has songs for everyone. If you like slower, more serious rap songs then MGK is your artist, if you like gangsta rap and more upbeat style then MGK is your artist. I'm the type of person who likes music with a story behind it, and well almost every one of MGK's songs has a legit story behind it, whether it be about his life, what happens in life, just a lot of the time it's more serious music. He got the name Machine Gun Kelly for a reason, because of his rapid fire lyrics. He is one of the fastest rappers in the scene right now and I don't see anyone coming close to him anytime soon. MGK has been recognized as one of the best live performers in the genre's history. If you go to an MGK show you will not leave without some pretty vivid memories. Things like him climbing speakers onto walls, dousing the crowd in vodka and champagne, the usual crowd surfing, sucking a girls tit during a live show, and his mosh pits are absolutely crazy. With hundreds of thousands of people jumping around throwing their arms out you're bound to get hit a few times. A friend of mine who isn't a small guy left with a swollen elbow, bloody eye, and little cuts and bruises on his arms. MGK does not disappoint when it comes to a live show. Whether you like rap or not, MGK is worth giving a shot. * - Eeluminati - Sep 20, 2014 ![]() 50 Cent by Crypto Minter Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is [50 Cent] 50 Cent, is an American rapper, entrepreneur, investor, and actor from New York City. He's a legend, and the majority of rappers and those who MC look up to fifity. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] [No] Review I appreciate the efforts and struggles Curtis Jackson has gone through, to get where he is today. He is an official fighter, and deserves every moment in the spotlight. Born in the South Jamaica section of Queens, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has lived in New York City all his life. Raised by his grandparents after his father ran out and his mother was shot when he was only eight. That's a hard time for anyone, and for him he used music to keep him satisfied and on point. The right decision for anyone that wants to make success. His future career began instantly after Eminem announcing on a radio show that "50 Cent is definitely my favourite rapper right now, he's the only one keeping it real." The very next day a bidding war started on 50, ending when 50 signed to Eminem's very own label Shady/Aftermath. 50 Cent's fame has exploded, being produced by Dr. Dre. 50 Cent controls the music industry for mix tapes, he's been patiently waiting and he deservers every minute of success. I listen to his songs on a daily bassis, and i recommend, share all his videos to my friends..even here on HF. If you haven't heard any of his hard ass tunes, please go listen now. Start off with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5D3crqpClPY He even created the legendary two step dance, which i use every weekend haha! Fifity is a fucking legend. 🤝 Wiz Khalifa by Aviate Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() ![]() Who is Wiz Khalifa? Wiz Khalifa is the stay high homie that makes hip-hop music and he's been in the game for about 9 years. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Fuck yea, I spam his music all the time when with friends. Review Not really sure how to write a review so I'm going to just write what I think/know about him. Wiz Khalifa is really known for his chill/catchy music that in most cases brings people back to listen again. When he reached the ago of 17 he got Khalifa tatted on his body, Khalifa is an arabic word for successor so I'm assuming he was confident he was going to eventually blow up with fame. Like I said up above, he's the stay high type of person so he definitely doesn't hide the fact that he loves weed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikjzpe9OPtk Schoolboy Q by Homeland. Spoiler (Click to View) ![]() ![]() Who is Schoolboy Q Quincey Matthew Hanley is an American rapper straight out of Los Angeles. Schoolboy is most commonly known for his album labeled Beginnings. In my opinion his best album is by far Oxymoron. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review Schoolboy Q in my opinion is one of the most under-rated rappers up until his album Oxymoron dropped February 25th, 2014. Schoolboy Q has toured with the following famous rappers: A$AP Mob, Kendrick Lamar (who influenced him to drop his own debut album), Mac Miller, and Wiz Khalifa. Schoolboy Q's influences are Nas, 50 Cent, Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G, Kurupt and 2Pac. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXOMwKk3rBM Snow Patrol by Chasing Helicopters [sp] ![]() ![]() Who is Snow Patrol? Snow patrol is made up of 4 Irish members and 1 Scottish member who released their first record, Starfighter Pilot, in 1997. Since then, they have relased their most famous song, Chasing Cars, which topped the UK song leaderboard for more than 75 weeks. Details
Would you recommend this artist to a friend? [Yes] Review Snow Patrol has a very specific style of music. They're very laid-back alternative band and have produced many chart-topping records. They have been around since 1994, but produced their first record in 1997. This band is one of my personal favorites. They haven't gotten into drugs and have had their music featured in multiple movies and TV shows. To name a few, Grey's Anatomy, Divergent, and Hall Pass 2. All in all, Snow Patrol is a phenomenal band and a great role model for kids, adults, and bands alike.
