Anime with overpowered main characters - Diji - Sep 23, 2014 I'm looking for anime where a main/important character is overpowered in some way and it's apparent from the start. For example, here's stuff I've seen that fit what I'm looking for: No Game No Life - Sora & Shiro Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They? - The main characters THE UNLIMITED Hyobu Kyosuke - Hyobu Hayate the Combat Butler - Hayate Death Note - Kira & L Terror in Resonance (Zankyou no Terror) - Nine & Twelve The Irregular at Magic High (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei) - Tatsuya Hamatora the Animation - Nice A Certain Magical Index - Accelerator Btoom - The main character SAO - Kirito Log Horizon - Shiroe Hellsing - Alucard Blood Lad - Main vampire character Blue Exorcist - Son of Satan Black Rock Shooter - BRS herself Hidan no Aria - Mr. Dodges Bullets In Real Time http://myanimelist.net/animelist/chdata All of these anime are very very different in genre, but the main characters all have something that makes them much more skilled than people normally are whether it be their intelligence or their strength. What I'm not looking for: Anime where the main character starts out relatively normal and becomes OP at like the last episode / many episodes later. * - Chad ThunderCock - Sep 23, 2014 (Sep 23, 2014 11:49 PM)Diji Wrote: I'm looking for anime where a main/important character is overpowered in some way and it's apparent from the start. Hello, but I have come to tell you the tale of our lord and savior Jesus Onii-sama. Well not really, I could spend my time here writing some tale but it's better seen first hand. Want a OP character? Check Mahouka and join the religious group of Jesus Onii-sama followers. Spoiler (Click to View) It may not be very apparent as it starts but you'll understand it soon enough * - Diji - Sep 24, 2014 oh yeah I forgot to list mahouka lol seen it funny post though lololo * - zero light - Sep 24, 2014 * - Diji - Sep 24, 2014 For a long time I've not been interested in Code Geass... I'm aware though. * - Endou - Sep 24, 2014 Top 4 Will be - Ichigo - Naruto - Natsu - Luffy All these 3 were over powered from start! Character development for other side characters are very low, but for these 4, they are freaking over powered! * - NextGenUber - Sep 24, 2014 If you're looking for a longer anime maybe Hunter X Hunter (2011) could work for you. If you get past the first few episodes it really is a great anime. (there's a reason its ranked in the top 10 on MAL) Also, people will hate me for recommending this but another anime with an OP character is Sword Art Online. Now, before people come at me for recommending SAO just think about what hes looking for. Also, its a decent anime, not great, not a master piece, but still good. Character development for other side characters are very low, but for these 4, they are freaking over powered! I haven't seen Natsu and will look into that... But for all the other ones none of them are what I'm looking for because none of them feel like these super dominantly powerful characters until like a hundred episodes later - and even then they aren't really dominant or extremely overpowering against their opponents much of the time. Not looking for character development. Though I do like those anime, I'm not interested in watching stuff like that lately. On that note, Dragon Ball / Shaman King are also not what I'm looking for. @NextGenUber I've seen SAO, it didn't come to mind when I thought OP chars but I suppose it does fit the criteria. I might as well say now that Log Horizon and Blood Lad count too. I'll see Hunter X Hunter. I saw like one fight on youtube and it seemed sorta okay, and always hear a lot about it. * - Haggo - Sep 24, 2014 Akame ga Kill, main character not super OP, gets schooled by assasins then joins them. Super brutal, fast paced, not tons of trash talk for a 20 second fight scene. Love it. * - ♦Tet♠ - Sep 24, 2014 Interesting request, and yes your genre's are all very different lol but you could check these out I suppose. Magi Blue Exorcist (though I can't remember how "op" he becomes) Hunter X Hunter(This just makes sense) Deadman Wonderland(the MC is like what you're looking for in this.) Mirai Nikki(anyone who has seen this including the sequel redial would understand why I'm listing this as an OP character in the end lol) Ga Rei Zero * - Diji - Sep 24, 2014 I've seen Akame Ga Kill, Blue Exorcist, Deadman's Wonderland, and Mirai Nikki. Will check out Magi and Ga Rei Zero though. I feel like there's one ESPer/psychic power one I've heard of but haven't watched yet... I've seen the Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun series with Accelerator... ;O I've been on track with Tokyo ESP this season, jsyk. * - ♦Tet♠ - Sep 24, 2014 (Sep 24, 2014 01:47 AM)Diji Wrote: I've seen Akame Ga Kill, Blue Exorcist, Deadman's Wonderland, and Mirai Nikki.Ah I really liked Certain Magical Index I'm currently watching Railgun right now, and by far I do have to say Accelerator is one of my favourite characters especially because of how much character development they gave him through the series. If you find out that other anime similar to those two let me know, and I'll check it out. * - Diji - Sep 24, 2014 Well, Hamatora the Animation is ALOT like toaru is. People with powers in a scientific community where these people are higher in society due to these powers. I'm only one episode into "Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke", but it's also like toaru based on it (with psychic powers and whatnot - the first character you see is like another Accelerator but with different ability and a different personality type). There's also Psycho-Pass. Not really psychic powers at all, but it's a society with a clear hierarchy based on how psychologically sane and capable you are. Of course, there's geniuses in there too. * - ♦Tet♠ - Sep 24, 2014 Awesome I just checked it out on MAL I added it to my list I'll check it out after I'm done with Railgun, Thanks |
