A movie called Himizu, it was great. it follows up on the tsunami that happened a few years ago and revolves around two middle school students and how there parents are very abusive and so forth and the main protagonist is sorta suicidal.

Oldboy is good as is Breathless and battle royal.
Anyway I have an other recommendation for you.
(Departed was based on this movie)
Also a very interesting move to watch is "Memories of murder"
