[MyBB] Appraising for a MyBB plugin development - InspectorGadget - Oct 2, 2014
Hi all,
I've got a forum but I am horrible with PHP, templates and stuff.
I need a plugin that basically allows the group system to be used by normal users. Basically bringing the backend group panel to the usersCP front end.
It will be so clan's can create a "Clan" (group) and use it to work together.
Basically in the UserCP I need there to be a Clan management section. This should allow;
Clan creation system
Clan leader modification (set various users as leaders etc)
Clan PM system (Allow leaders to PM all clan members via PM'ing the group name)
Clan event system (Allow leaders to set up events that all clan members can see)
I'd also need a clan page like (clans.php) the groups page, where users can request to join clans and view all the clans etc.
How much do you think somebody would charge for a plugin like this?

I say $100, it's not that hard, maybe a couple of pages.

It depends if you want a half assed job or not.
If you want it done properly, go to Pirata Nervo. He'll probably charge you $200-$300 for this, but you can bet your ass it'll be exactly what you need, and probably more.

If I wasn't so rusty I could probably point you in the direction of a plugin that already exists that you can simply modify to do this. Have you tried asking on the community MyBB forums? If not, make a thread there and ask if a plugin already exists that allows you to do what you're wanting to do. If it doesn't already exist, I recommend developers like Pirata.
I am sure there was something similar to this that already exist though, so make sure there isn't before committing some serious financial attention towards it.

Ew, no. His prices are ridiculous. He charged me $20 for 30 lines of code.

He charges per hour of work doesn't he? Regardless, he is quite comfortably the best plugin developer (quality wise) within MyBB.

Dragonexpert from my MyBB team also does plugin commissions. He charges $15 p/hour.
I've used Pirata in the past and he was great. Charged a flat $20 p/hour which was fine with me.
My current plugin developer charges me $60 flat fee but gives unlimited bug fixes and changes/updates + he's much more experienced than anyone on the MyBB team I think.
