Need Help recovering data!!! - mrtazylemons - Oct 5, 2014 I have 1TB HD, and on the hard drive I created a partition (488Gb) that is TrueCrypt encrypted device with a hidden volume (200Gb). Mistakenly I re installed windows to that partition and TrueCrypt wont mount the device. I used "Volume Tools-Restore header" and got the device to mount (only the non-hidden volume tho) but I cant view the contents because im getting the "Do you want to format?" message followed by an error stating it cant read it. I used every kind of data recovery software and only got back a couple of the files. There has got to be a way I can fix the volume. Please HELP!!! * - Aura - Oct 5, 2014 Have you tried running a check disk (chkdsk /r) on that partition to see what comes out of it ? * - mrtazylemons - Oct 5, 2014 (Oct 5, 2014 07:37 AM)Aurа Wrote: Have you tried running a check disk (chkdsk /r) on that partition to see what comes out of it ? Sorry I was working all day, I am currently running it right now. I will report back once its finished. So I ran the ChkDsk and I see the name of the actual partition now and i can use it, but trucrypt still doesn't recognize it until i restored the embedded header. Now its back to square one, i can mount the volume but i cant accesses it. I am running my file recovery software again to see if i can pull more out if it. Sorry for typos im in a rush. The recovered files were the same files as before. Any help to get this mounted again would be a life savor * - mrtazylemons - Oct 20, 2014 Bump please. This is my last hope. I need someone who is proficient with truecrypt encryption. |
