HOW TO NOT GET ISP DOXED - well then - Oct 22, 2014

This easy method will protect you from getting your information leaked from ISP's poor customer service.
Many companies who have support lines/chats have what's called a "note".
This note is anything you'd like to tell them about your account, which many people do not know about.

1)
Call them and say you're under fear that you're going to be hacked. You downloaded a suspicious program and you had no antivirus.
Tell them you'd like to add extra protection to your account, in case of fraud and unwanted charges. This is important since they take security breaches "seriously".

2)
Ask for a security question, PIN number, anything of that sort.
If you're under actual constant fear, tell them that any other number except this one is trying to access my account without my consent. Tell them to add that along with a security question, so you're not locked out of ISP customer service if you use another phone or change numbers.

3)
You can also have a reference ID created to go back to your case. Keep this reference ID, since it may be the gateway back into your account along with the other ways mentioned above.

Hope this method protects you from anonymoose and skids.

Thanks for this, but most of this is widely known.

This probably isnt the case for EVERY SINGLE ISP.

Mine for example does not have this at all.

Called them about this and they couldn't give any shits. They don't give out customer information anyways because before you get forwarded to a representative you must input the account PIN.

Or you could just, you know, not put yourself in the position in the first place. I understand the point of this thread is to make others aware of some precautionary measures.

I'm sure it'll help someone here.

I don't think that protects from any normal isp doxing methods... How would this help? Lmao.

It would help if somebody calls and start asking questions, ya dingus.

Well obviously you nor OP have very good methods... If any. How would this stop an "employee" from getting your data? ya dingus.

I have more than enough information about the ISP's to say I am an "employee"

I just want to keep people safe, since they may deny access for this "employee" to access your records.

How will this deny access for an "employee"?

Its easy when my ISP and IP changes everytime I reset the modem.

* - JaimeLannister - Oct 22, 2014

Could this backfire though and cause an invasion of privacy by the ISP analyzing what has been going on though? Not a statement, a respectful question.

Comcast is able to leave "Notes" or "Tabs" on your account for other agents to see to make sure that all agents see it when they open your account up on their side.

All notes can be bypassed, I challenged kids to put notes on their accounts and I still pulled info, notes is basically a false sense of security anyone with a tiny bit of motivation and creativity can make a note useless or outright get info despite the note saying not to.Unless your a shit tier social engineer bypassing notes shouldn't even be close to complicated.

Or just get a VPN and don't hang around with little kids online?

Yeah VPN's are like the only real mitigation to protect against this, once the VPN is compromised your shit out of luck, a measily note won't stop a creative social engineer.ISP Doxing is an ongoing issue like swatting it's been around for YEARS and you can't do much to stop it considering not everyone can blacklist them selves with their local PD because most don't have a blacklisting system usually you have to make negotiations with the local police station/county sheriff etc same thing with the note it's practically pointless.

Its safer than not having a note, but your still susceptible to get isp doxed. as people said
