When I do something with it I usually just create some fancy text and replace some colors. * - Matt AH - Oct 27, 2014 (Oct 27, 2014 03:54 PM)๖ۣۜLooka Wrote: How did you start with/learn photoshop and what tools do you use with photoshop? When I do something with it I usually just create some fancy text and replace some colors.I started learning Photoshop back in the signature phase on HF(idk if you remember this), everyone just wanted the best and sickest signature. With the perfect render, c4d's, effects, etc. Essentially what I started out doing was logos, taking an image or shape, erasing parts of it, re-sizing it, adding different filters and effects to get what I felt was the right fit. It may sound cheesy, but designing really needs for you to tap into your creative side. Know that not everyone has a great creative side, it's just not for some people. BUT everything is worth trying am I right? I would suggest using the pentool, get accustom to this tool as it will be your best friend when making logos or icons. You can almost create anything with a pentool if you're good with it. Maybe even flood your Photoshop with custom shapes because then it'll stem the designing wheels and you will see something that needs to be somewhere and it'll all fit. Feel free to shoot me a PM(or skype me) and I can show you some extra tips inside Photoshop. * - Barneyyz™ - Oct 28, 2014 Hey everyone, im online and ready to help. Here are some videos that should start you out in Photoshop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjRqZiAgoHo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS5uh5TCXcU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZlXagXwcn4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-u-OYz2qaU Cinema 4D on the other hand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoaxYKPiwWI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOuyifGdonA Feel free to PM me directly if you have any specific graphic requests/ (Oct 29, 2014 05:26 AM)Obli Wrote: Any advice on innovation in tagging? most of my stuff is repetitive and I'd like to try out something new tbhMany different types of tag styles, such as smudging, the good ol' render + slap c4ds + fractals + lighting, maybe even a simple design. I would try at all of them before you start moving to other brands of graphics like logos, banners, etc. I was at the same position you were when I was tagging, kept making the same damn tag with just different colors imo. I become narrow minded, which isn't what designing. Open your mind so you can create more and unique designs. One thing I did that I found very useful was steer away from tagging, go to another aspect of designs such as logos, banners, maybe even try a new program in general like Illustrator or Cinema 4D, open the mind to other things. Then come back to tagging, when I did that I was making better tags then ever. Try it out and let me know if that works.
