Program_Files Folder Displaying In User Folder - ShadyLTD - Nov 3, 2014 Not sure what the hell I did, but my Program_Files(x86) folder is showing up twice in my user folder (Where My Pictures, My Documents, etc). And I can't delete it because it's a direct folder to C:/Program_Files. When I try to restore default, it shows my 'Search' folder but it says it cannot move where it already exist. Any idea on how to fix? * - Aura - Nov 3, 2014 You mean, the Program Files folder under the C: is being redirected to that Program Files folder in your documents ? Can you show us screenshots of that redirection? * - esin - Nov 4, 2014 sounds like you moved one or more installations to another folder then the defaulted one, even if you didn't make a folder there if you set a installation there it would of made it for you, What's all in that folder anything you can uninstall and re install in the right place * - ShadyLTD - Nov 4, 2014 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When I try to restore default location, it shows my Search folder, no idea what I did to do that lol. Even if I create a Search folder and try to move it, it still says same thing. * - Aura - Nov 4, 2014 Is there actually any programs installed in these two Program Files (x86) folders, or are they located in the real Program Files (x86) folder on the C: drive ? If so, I'll tell you how to force delete these two. * - ShadyLTD - Nov 4, 2014 Yeah it shows everything, it's the actual folder and when I try to delete it, it deletes the actual folder located in the C:\, so I can't delete lol. * - Aura - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:01 PM)ShadyLTD Wrote: Yeah it shows everything, it's the actual folder and when I try to delete it, it deletes the actual folder located in the C:\, so I can't delete lol. Try to open the Windows Explorer via a command prompt that was opened with Admin Rights, to see if it let you change it's location. * - ShadyLTD - Nov 4, 2014 I think my Search folder and Programs Folder got swapped somehow. Because the Program_Files folder in the C:\ has a little magnifying glass on it, but the other 2 folders don't. Also could you elaborate a little more on how to do this? * - Aura - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:11 PM)ShadyLTD Wrote: I think my Search folder and Programs Folder got swapped somehow. Simply right-click on the command prompt, select Run as Admin then enter start . and press Enter. * - ShadyLTD - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:14 PM)Aurа Wrote: Simply right-click on the command prompt, select Run as Admin then enter start . and press Enter. Oh yeah I know that lol, but not sure how to move a folder using CMD. And here's a picture of my C:\ so you can get an idea.

When I open it, it opens as C:\Program_Files, not C:\Users\etc\etc. It's like a Ghost folder, can't delete, move or anything without messing with the default C:\ folder lol. * - Aura - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:24 PM)ShadyLTD Wrote: I ment it doesn't allow me to move it because it's already at it's location. Also, I want you to use that Admin Windows Explorer to do the operation that was failing earlier, where you had "Access Denied". * - ShadyLTD - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:27 PM)Aurа Wrote: Is it the exact same message when you try to relocate the one in C: ? I'm trying to move the folder to the same location. * - Aura - Nov 4, 2014 (Nov 4, 2014 04:31 PM)ShadyLTD Wrote: Even if I type the direct path to move it, it says path doesn't exist.
