Can't upload a gif avatar? - Nevieth - Nov 9, 2014
I've tried uploading a new gif avatar which I've resized, every time i try to upload it from Imgur.com it gives me this error;

I would just use the upload from machine option, but it doesn't keep the Gif to the image.

I can also resize it if that's the problem, but it says for some reason Imgur.com isn't a valid url, I also tried minus.com

I just tried to add an image to my signature but got this error;

I'm assuming this is some sort of bug with HF and it's addons, hopefully this bug gets fixed.

Well, the link to the imgur image Ua7Rn4v.gif is uploaded as 245x300 image, with a file size of 374KB. That exceeds the size and dimensions of an avatar. I advise that you try uploading the resized version you posted, because that fits all the requirements. Also, try using postimage.org as a last resort.

I just tried to upload the second image on postimage.org and it claims it isn't a valid url.

Same here man. My old avatar got removed and after I uploaded this one it won't let me change it at all.

Yup, it's most likely a bug with MyBB or something, it also wont let me add a new image into my signature as it doesn't think the direct .gif url is valid, which it is... while I select preview it shows it, but when I click confirm it times out.

It can't, every time I attempt to use a url for my avatar or signature it merely times out and claims it isn't valid, I also use the second image which is deemed correct for all the requirements. Whenever I select upload from computer option it either doesn't take it and merely re-sizes my current avatar... or it does take it but doesn't show any animations since it's a gif.

Just try with this and see if it's the host which is blocking HF.

Right click the image and save it on your computer.
Then upload the avatar https://hackforums.net/usercp.php?action=avatar from your computer.
It will not be animated in userCP, but when you look at your post, it's animated.

Alright, and I've tried it with different browsers and it still doesn't work, oh and I live in the U.S so I doubt I'm blocked by a certain ISP or something. This is an odd bug, don't know how to fix it.

The issue has been fixed, it seems it really was an issue with MyBB or something and Omniscient has fixed it.
