Avira won't turn protection back on. - KiruKashi - Nov 11, 2014

Hello,

I think this is the correct section I should post in.

I just used a System Restore, I lost some details and some shit messed up.
I decided to restore my system 5 days back.

Now, I can't get my Avira working.

Avira's completely updated.

I tried to use the Fix problem option but it tells me to purchase a lisence.
Even though it's a Free Anti virus.
I tried to enable it I get the administrator pop up then it loads something then it just stops.

This really confused me.
Avira:
Status: Action required
Last update: 735547 days ago.

This thing tells me my Avira hasn't been updated in 200 years.

The fuck.

Everything else seems to work perfectly fine.

I believe the system restore messed up some of coding on the Antivirus program causing it to say 735547 days when maybe it was counting in minutes or seconds? I myself have not used Avira so I can't think of a way to check the version and possibly contacting customer support to see if it is the latest version to ensure it is updated. If you don't want to contact customer support then possibly just reinstalling the program should guarantee it is updated without waiting on customer support. Hope it helped.

Looks like your Avira was affected by the System Restore. It's a free Antivirus so no biggies, simply uninstall and reinstall it. If you want, you can use their manual clean-up guide if automatic uninstall doesn't work :
