Disabling Security Camera - Noobsticky - Nov 11, 2014

Is it possible to ddos/boot the server the Camera is running on and turn it off temporary?
Also if this is possible how do i spot which IP is the Cameras?

Well consider the following,
1. The camera most likely isnt an IP camera unless the building/security is new (post 1990s)
2. The majority of cameras are internal only which means xxx420popapacketb00ter wont work
3. The majority of cameras could be bruteforced into then turned off
4. If you cant bruteforce it then there is most likely an exploit in the camera itself because seriously the security on those things sucks

As for spotting cameras based on IP if step 3 or 4 is successful you should be able to just look through the camera and see what its looking at.

A more realistic solution would be bright IR leds if the camera has "night vision" because "night vision" on most cameras is a ring of IR leds that floods the area with IR, this means that the camera has no IR filter over it. So if you have a bright ring of IR leds around your face lets say then you will look like a bright blob on camera.
