The proper ways to build Evelynn - Zorai - Nov 16, 2014
I see a lot of people building Evelynn completely wrong, it seems people nowadays lack discipline because they go 8/0 by 15 minutes and assume they can build really silly shit (which WILL work if you went 8/0 by 15 minutes...) But that's not the case in higher elo ranked games now, is it?
The problem with this is that by the time you have money for that triforce, you've already been stomped left and right for not having any resistances or health...
There are only two proper ways to build Eve and I'll explain them as thoroughly as I can.
The safe or more 'LCS' way would be to go elder lizard -> hexdrinker (seeker's armguard against full AD teams) -> ninja tabi/merc treads -> randuins and banshee's -> thornmail.
Note: you need a really good team to win consistently with this build. Reason being you do little to no damage to anyone but the enemy ADC late game, you serve more as an average frontline utility tank with a slow or 2.
The more pubstomping method of building is still relatively safe, you just have to be sure you won't get fucked in your own jungle so you can actually farm while still ganking effectively:
Spirit of the spectral wraith -> ninja tabi/merc treads-> Zhonyas (armguard first for the armor rush. Zhonyas on eve will get you to diamond probably) -> Randuins and banshees -> Guardian angel.
Note with this pubstomping build you will have more sustain in the jungle offering more ganks, the setback being you have to buy a few wards because you must remain really fucking safe since you won't be tanky as quick, but once you do get zhonyas you can make some sick plays and have enough gold right away to get tanky. Also you can definitely carry pretty hard with this build if you don't spend too much time farming. Tell your team to get on your back after you get zhonyas then you can initiate a fight like a god. Also the lategame for this build is arguably better than the other safe-build. Overall I feel like your performance with Eve depends less on your build and more on how you handle early game - although you still have to know that certain items just do not fucking work on Eve.
Elder lizard can be replaced with Spectral wraith in most cases IMO.

yeh im against both your methods of building. you say ur a eve main? what rank tho?
i mean they close to whats good but not exactly the "proper way" thats ur proper way not someone else's

Please explain what you think is a good build then? Eve is nothing without resistances...

What runes/masteries do you run?
Also, seeing as spirit of the spectral wraith boosts your damage by way more and costs the same as lizard, why wouldn't you get that instead? Also you have better clears and sustain in the jung with it.

once again can i ask you ur rank? lizard works much better with eve
masteries run as 21-9 and runes just basic ad runes

I agree with God, AP Eve is only effective with a lot of AP and then again its still trash. The only AP item I would consider would be an hourglass.

When I play Eve, I go:
Lizard -> Merc/Tabi -> Frozen Heart (Cdr and armor) -> Banshees/Randuins -> Situational
Sometimes I'll get a Bork depending on who they have, or if I'm ahead.

TriForce if really ahead and Maw in other situations (botrk against full AD?) is what I'd recommend. Been seeing Botrk's on her (along with Maw) too which haven't been too bad. Elder Lizard in all cases tho. (Elder is better because her Q procs it and the burn will keep procing, so that's like 12 extra true damage each Q or something)

Alright, I really prefer ganking early game and going damage so I was just wondering if this build is good:
Lizard > Mobility, for ganking really fast going to objectives etc > Triforce > Botrk > Randuins
What do you think of that? I am contanstly ganking, and after I succesfully gank I always push lane to destroy turret
So this build seems good to me, but I am not an expert in items so.. lol.
Whatcha think?
