OPINION (Linux Mint Debian vs Linux mint 17 QIANA - Zero_Luffy - Nov 17, 2014

Hi ,

i would like to get your Opinion about Linux Mint version that you prefer ? which one is better Linux mint Debian or Mint 17 Qiana ?

As we all know , Qiana is base on Ubuntu , advantage would be list of software compatible with Ubuntu would work fine in Qiana,

but what about Linux mint debian , as far as i do know, Debian is good and stable as well so any Opinion about it will be Most welcom🤝

If you're going to use Mint Debian then you might as well use Debian.

I like Linux Mint Debian edition, I hope the Linux Mint developers stick with Debian as the base for future releases. Not everything HAS to be based off the Ubuntu repository :P

That being said, yes I do think it's redundant to use LMDE when plain Debian with Cinnamon DE could easily get the job done. But I do like how the Linux Mint developers are starting to move their own way, separate from Ubuntu and their ever-growing distro followers. Hope they continue, would love to see what future versions like Mint 20 could end up like.

Think the developers were just testing the waters here, seeing if everything was compatible using Debian as base.
