ISP blocking HF? - IcYSeptember - Nov 29, 2014 So, yeah. What do? I'm in the fucking US. ![]() ![]() This fixed it: ![]() I dunno what to do, here. * - Pentinum - Nov 29, 2014 Yeah this is pretty weird, not a clue how to fix it. * - Pillows - Nov 29, 2014 Well since you already found the solution what do you want us to do? * - Legit - Nov 29, 2014 Well...your ISP is either blocking it on their DNS server, or they're using DNS servers that block it. * - IcYSeptember - Nov 29, 2014 (Nov 29, 2014 10:04 AM)Pillows Wrote: Well since you already found the solution what do you want us to do? Bae, I'm pissed at my ISP. I think I'm switching. I don't like this one bit. I was on the edge about it before, but this settles it. All of a sudden, I tried getting on today and this bullshit happened. * - Pentinum - Nov 29, 2014 (Nov 29, 2014 10:05 AM)IcYSeptember Wrote: Bae, I'm pissed at my ISP. This happened to me today but i wasn't pinging it or anything, it just wouldn't load for an hour. My friend still can't connect and it's been a full day. * - Tokyox - Nov 29, 2014 Quickest way to fix this is to change your DNS servers to the Google DNS servers. They are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 * - IcYSeptember - Nov 29, 2014 (Nov 29, 2014 10:10 AM)Pentinum Wrote: This happened to me today but i wasn't pinging it or anything, it just wouldn't load for an hour. Since it was being redirected to localhost, this is all I saw: ![]() I noticed it was being pointed to localhost after a few minutes, though. I've already done that and it worked. * - Roger Waters - Nov 29, 2014 Go into your Internet Options and make sure you don't have a proxy set up, this could be the cause of the issue. * - IcYSeptember - Nov 29, 2014 (Nov 29, 2014 10:21 AM)Roger Waters Wrote: Go into your Internet Options and make sure you don't have a proxy set up, this could be the cause of the issue. I don't have a proxy setup. I re-installed this OS not long ago. I also recently reset my router and modem (a few days ago). * - DuguWudi - Nov 29, 2014 Just use the google dns as suggested above, I just notice, I also need to google dns to access hf now. * - Astute - Nov 29, 2014 There was another person having issues with accessing the site as well, it had to do with DNS problems. You both may possibly have the same IS. Could you mention what ISP you have, and maybe we can link two and two together? * - Obli - Nov 29, 2014 As others have already suggested, you could use the google DNS if anything. Name of the ISP might help as it is possible HF might be blocked. * - Omniscient - Nov 29, 2014 Yes, I need the names of the ISP's. Also from CMD try "nslookup hackforums.net" and "nslookup hackforums.net". * - TheNaked - Nov 29, 2014 Why would they block HF, wouldn't that be internet censorship? In Norway the ISP's can't block anything except CP. |
