The team would like to welcome aboard Indebitus.

Indebitus has offered his support in terms on infrastructure to Omnicoin. After a trial period on the team, we have agreed to make his position permanent.

His involvement is currently allowing progress toward a build environment for the Omnicoin client, so we can easily update the client for all platforms.

After the build environment is completed, we will be pushing out a large update to the client and Omnicoin, so stay tuned.

So again, welcome to him!

Alright, I'll ask. Why does the OMC team need more members when the only thing that's recently been completed was the plug in? How large is this update and what is it going to encompass? Also, is there an ETA?

Lastly, congrats.

We are working on a few things. The ability to compile a client to all the platforms is a much needed thing.

Firstly, we are going to be switching difficulty retargeting algorithm to DGW. Secondly, we are updating the alert keys.

We will also be making some improvements to the client soon, such as additional functionality and trying to fix why it hangs on close.

Also on my personal agenda, I am still working on omnicoinJ and the android wallet. We are considering making an alternative wallet which just interfaces with Omnicha.in's API. I am also looking into making an embedded wallet for chrome as a plugin, and making plugins for HackerCraft (not sure exactly what yet. Ideas would be appreciated).

If you need some assistance with the Android wallet, feel free to let me know.

No, certainly, please continue. The wallet I am developing probably will not be "official" when I release it, just as the online wallet on Omnichain is not official. Are you basing it on the bitcoin wallet? Or coding it from scratch? Is it standalone, or does it interface with omnicha.in API?

No, I am not basing it off of the Bitcoin wallet.
Yes, I am coding it from scratch.

Mine won't be official either as I'm not associated with the OMC team unfortunately, however it has been a good experience so far and I'll continue working on it. Good luck with your wallet. If you need any help with it like I edited my original reply to say, feel free to let me know.

Awesome. I am just modifying bitcoinj to create omnicoinj and then using that for the wallet. It is always good to have options. What have you done so far? How will your wallet deal with the blockchain? I hope you aren't making a phone download the whole blockchain 😝
Thanks for the offer.

I have done a lot on the project so far as I've been working on it since July. It's got a lot of interesting features that I'm sure you'll find out as soon as I post about it in this forum when I've got it working to my liking. Stay tuned.

Sounds like the OMC team is doing a good job so far! I can't wait for the Android wallet :)

* - ~Jay~ - Dec 1, 2014

It's nice to see the project is expanding.

Great, will do. Just make sure it is open source 🤝

Are you going to fix it so that it sends it back to your main address as opposed to storing the OMC on a change address?

Thank god we're changing difficulty. Somebody is on the pool right now with 1Gh/s killing my mining...

Cool, glad you'll be putting out more wallets to allow more people to take part in the coin. Embedded wallet feels risky but I'm willing to hear it out. Good luck with the HC plugin.
