It's much easier to get cheaper ranks on lots of servers then it is to get an expensive rank on one server.
Theoretically, this can work with really expensive ranks but it is highly unlikely. $500 ranks are bullshit anyway.

It all depends on the server and such, the shortest it's ever taken for me personally is 30 minutes but there have been cases when it takes 2 weeks.
