[GIMP] Picture inside text tutorial. - ArtMachine - Dec 19, 2014

Greetings fellow GFX artists.
Just another tutorial within a day!

What you will be making:

Step 1:
Click the "A" button & create your text. [it's better if it's a bold, thick text & caps lock is best].

Step 2:
Click "Path from Text" at the bottom of the GIMP screen.

Step 3:
Go to Select>From Path [for a shortcut, hit SHIFT+V]

Step 4: Copy the image you want to put inside the text.

Step 5: Go to Edit>Paste as>New Layer

Step 6: Go to Layers [for a shortcut, hit CTRL+L] & click on "Floating Selection"

Step 7: Hit the drop down box from "Mode" and select "Screen"

Step 8: Move your picture to wherever you think it looks best inside the text. You can add whatever you want, a drop shadow, border, brushes, etc

Many thanks as always.

Wow! It's a very easy way to do this! I've never used the path from text tool until now. Thank you! 🙂

It's very simple as I already know how to do it, however I am pretty sure it will be helpful for newbies. Good tutorial, keep it up! ;)
