Is here anyone holding high amounts in Blockchain? - Shed - Jan 1, 2015 So, after "the hacker" stole 250 bitcoins, I'm not sure if I want to continue holding my coins here. Is anyone else holding high amounts in BlockChain? Should I go to Coinbase? , Is here anyway to link my Bitcoin client + BlockChain? Because I mostly times send bitcoins via my phone and blockchain app do it more easy. * - w34k - Jan 1, 2015 No, blockchain.info is sketchy. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4613539 Don't trust online wallets, use an offline wallet. Electrum, Armory, MultiBit are all good. * - ǤªƝƝƗƈus - Jan 1, 2015 (Jan 1, 2015 01:35 PM)Shed Wrote: So, after "the hacker" stole 250 bitcoins, I'm not sure if I want to continue holding my coins here.Offline wallets are the only way to go. * - ~Jay~ - Jan 1, 2015 If you actual security, you should use a paper wallet or an encrypted wallet on your computer. * - Truth - Jan 1, 2015 btc-e was and still is the safest online wallet. but Obviously use offline wallet if you care about ur coins * - Deform - Jan 1, 2015 I don't hold anything in btc, whenever I get it, it goes to prime dice. LOL betting addiction? I think yes. * - Egregious - Jan 2, 2015 I don't know how many people still don't know this. CoinBase and Circle are both American companies headquartered in the USA. Your wallets there are insured and protected, so you get your money back if they get hacked or lose your BitCoins. By using an offline wallet, there is always a possibility of corruption or loss. Yes, you'll be able to send and receive BitCoins, even using your phone. Make sure you enable two-factor authentication for extra security. * - inkedirishmen - Jan 2, 2015 (Jan 2, 2015 12:07 AM)Egregious Wrote: I don't know how many people still don't know this. I think it's one of the best companies to go with in my opinion. Hope this helps the OP with your decision. * - Ʀ0yαL - Jan 2, 2015 I've read about Coinbase tracing where BTC come from and things of that nature, and suspending accounts based on that information. I personally use Bitcoin core, but would also use Electrum. * - ǤªƝƝƗƈus - Jan 2, 2015 (Jan 1, 2015 05:20 PM)Deform Wrote: I don't hold anything in btc, whenever I get it, it goes to prime dice.
