What is AnimeFAN!?
AnimeFAN! used to be an unofficial group that has resided on HackForums for over 3 years. The group is now official, we have our own user bar and sub forum! We are one of the oldest groups of members on HackForums which had dozens of members coming and going. AnimeFAN! is a group of individuals who share the same interests; Anime, Manga and the Japanese culture. Our interests brings us together allowing us to participate in dozens of fun group activities.
What do we do?
AnimeFAN! members will be participating in various different activities that range from movie nights, group reading, group gaming and just engaging/having fun. The group is not strict, we expect you to be active, friendly and having fun in general. We have a Teamspeak and Skype group chat which you can use to communicate with other members, they will also be used to participate in activities. Members who are not in AnimeFAN! are free to join in to the server and group, assuming you are friendly.

How long you've been into anime/manga/Japanese culture in general and how did you come across it ?
Its been around 3-4 years now that ive probably read or watched something daily, and about 1-2 years now that ive been heavily into Japaneses music and learning the language itself just from finding finding it as i came across it anime related images online and eventually finding out what they were about, but before that ive watched dbz and fma growing up like everyone else
Name two of your favorite Anime/Manga/Visual Novel/Light Novel and why you like them
As anime goes it used to be Steins Gate but now its the now airing Your Lie in April just the story and pure amount of emotion that drives the show is great and being a fan of playing the piano has part to do with liking it.
For manga it would be either Octave or Girlfriends yuri manga just makes you feel that type of way that other genres don't really do.
What guarantees your activity in our group as time goes on?
As i am actively keeping myself up to date with everything under the the genre of anime/manga and Japanese culture there will always be something for me to add to most off the topics discussed in the group and make my own points of discussion as well
What are your interest in Japanese culture?
Anime/Manga/Japanese Music, these are things that fill up most if not all my free time especially alot of j-music, indago la end, kana boon, and kpp are all great to listen too, and my recently discovered daoko(my avatar) she's a god (dj whispers ftw). As far as anime and manga go just the sheer amount of emotions that you can get from anime/manga is just crazy and same goes with any other type of medium for entertainment just anime/manga is how i chose to get that type of entertainment, music and culture goes just straight up to liking how the language sounds is one thing and having a thing for asain women is another thing too ;)
What do you expect from us?
A place where a group of friends with common interest come together to talk more about the the latest anime episodes latest manga chapters music news anything Japanese culture related really and can have alot of fun group activitys together.

Name two of your favorite Anime/Manga/Visual Novel/Light Novel and why you like them Date a Live and Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, I like them because they're entertaining, some animes are less entertaining. But by far these two keep my day bright. They have comedy in different forms. Romance, accidental, etc.
What guarantees your activity in our group as time goes on? When I finish these stupid exams I'll show you my activity. I hope you can trust me for now. I'm currently studying for exams almost every day, I've stopped watching anime and activity on HF for a bit.

How long you've been into Anime/Manga/Japanese culture in general and how did you come across it? I was introduced to anime by a friend a couple years ago, then after that I was hooked on anime and the Japanese culture itself. But I've been also watching since Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon if that counts.
Name two of your favorite Anime/Manga/Visual Novel/Light Novel and why you like them Neon Genesis Evangelion and Hellsing. NGE mainly because for it being so old itself it was one if not still the greatest animes in existence. Hellsing, what can I say? I'm a vampire fan as well.

How long you've been into Anime/Manga/Japanese culture in general and how did you come across it?
I've been watching anime since 2005. Well basic ones such as naruto, dbz. In 2011 a friend of mine re-introduced anime to me. As there was an amazing amount of anime being released during that time. Either way then I used to search for anime on google (stupid choice I know lol). From there it got hooked and I started reading manga since shounenjump would mail you books every month or so.
Name two of your favorite Anime/Manga/Visual Novel/Light Novel and why you like them
Steins;Gate
I loved Steins;Gate due to the science fiction behind it. When I was in school my favorite subject was science. I loved doing experiments with all types of things. The thing that got me hooked on this show was the fact that they were all having fun plus it had time traveling. Who wouldn't want to time travel right? I mean there was drama + romance involved but that's what made the story even better. Well that's why I like it.
Zero no Tsukaima
I know you're probably like "oh typical harem anime" but I really loved this series. Sometimes it got boring but the comedy in this was just great. I mean some episodes had me in tears like a baby lols. Anyways what made me love this show was the fact that the MC came from earth to an unknown planet/place which involves magic. Then there was the tsundere "master" type of girl who would beat the MC with a whip/magic because he would stare at other girls lol. The romance development is what really got me into it. I had high hopes for the show and it did not let me down not one bit.
What guarantees your activity in our group as time goes on?
As I am a deep fan of manga,anime,light novels, and visual novels I will not decrease my activity within the group. If I do get accepted I will be as active as I am in the typical anime adventure section.
What are your interest in Japanese culture?
Hmm I took a liking to vocaloids such as Hatsune Miku, Rana, Meiko, and Rin & Len.
I am not up to date with j-music but I am updated within their video games, tv shows, dramas, and movies.
What do you expect from us?
A place where I can meet new people and an extremely active anime/manga/light novel related sub forum where I can express my thoughts freely where there won't be someone thread bashing it. (Hopefully it doesn't happen)

How did you come across Anime?
More like- Anime crossed upon me. It just happened.. From memory my first anime actually watched would be yu-gi-oh or naruto. I thought it was cartoons at first ofcourse. I got obsessed by its art until i met the first anime i actually liked as an "Anime" which was REC. It had a different feel from the majority of animes- Romance and i was a child back then. Hungry for more- then a very long story.. i ended up here.

How long you've been into Anime/Manga/Japanese culture in general and how did you come across it? Well, I got REALLY into it 2013-2014. Before that time I would just watch whatever was on Toonami and stuff.
Name two of your favorite Anime/Manga/Visual Novel/Light Novel and why you like them
#1, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.
#2, Zankyou no Terror.
Why do I like these? Well, I get extremely attached to characters in shows for some odd reason and when I started watching The Pet Girl of Sakurasou I started to just love those characters so much. Also, it has the best soundtrack/art I've yet to see. (Aside from movies of course.) As for Zankyou no Terror, I really liked the story and how there wasn't really anything left to uncover. You were able to learn everything possible from the show and they did it really nicely. Also has a great soundtrack/art.
What guarantees your activity in our group as time goes on?
I'm not a very social person when it comes to hanging out with friends etc so I'm usually always on and available.
What are your interest in Japanese culture?
I haven't really found something that I'm not interested in to be honest. I think part of it could be because of how different they are compared to the West, but If I had to point some fingers at some stuff, I'd say Vocaloid and Anime/Manga. Also, I love how much they get into decorating for holidays and stuff. I remember seeing some amazing decorations for Christmas in Tokyo I think? They looked really sweet.
What do you expect from us?
I expect some activity in the subforum that I haven't seen much of in the normal AA section. (Like some of the older members.) Since I've only been browsing AA for about a year I haven't seen quite a few people to post. Also, I expect to see discussion of the thing that all of us love. :)

I have been watching anime since I was a little boy, but I didn't really get into it until around 2010 when someone gave me a manga to read.
The manga in question was Midori no Hibi (Midori Days).

Clannad + Clannad: After Story
I love this series because it was very emotional and it had a great mix of drama and romance.
As of today, I've never seen a romantic story as good as Clannad's.
This anime inspired me to do my best and enjoy life.
NHK ni Youkoso!
This is one of my favorite anime because this show had a lot of references that I understood when it came to anime culture.
During that time, I related to the main character in many ways.
This anime was very emotional at times because it hit close to home.
I learned that no matter how bad your life may be, you can always make it better if you are dedicated to doing it.

I have a lot of time on my hands and I browse this site almost every day.
In the Anime Adventures section, I have over 700 posts.
What are your interests in Japanese culture?
Aside from anything related to anime, I am interested in the Japanese language and would like to be fluent in it.
Their food is great and I live near many Japanese restaurants so that I could enjoy them anytime.
I also like their music and have dozens of Japanese songs in my music library.
What do you expect from us?
I expect this group to be active and high quality, and that also applies to members.
There should be lots of discussions among members who treat each other with respect.

I think that you expect me to be an active, high quality member.
I always post using good spelling, grammar and punctuation and I will continue to do so.
