CURE FOR ALZHEIMERS FOUND! - Bαng - Jan 14, 2015 This is crazy, honestly the fact that this has been done is quite mind blowing, And apparently this could also be used in a sense to cure cancer and it is currently being looked into for that as well. What are your opinions? Quote:According to the Telegraph, Stanford University researchers have discovered the cause of dying nerve cells in the brain, particularly from Alzheimer’s disease. Cells that are designated to clean up harmful bacteria, viruses, and damaging deposits stop working, which results in the Alzheimer’s symptom of brain deterioration. These clean-up cells are called “microglia” and they make up about 10 to 15 percent of all brain cells. These essential cells do their job efficiently in the brains of young people; but as humans age, a protein called EP2 can stop the microglia from functioning. This can lead to Alzheimer’s disease, a neurodegenerative ailment that causes devastating memory loss and eventually death. This is pretty fantastic actually. * - No Zodiac - Jan 14, 2015 Probably related to weed. Just like all the other cures that are never released. * - Profatssor - Jan 14, 2015 (Jan 14, 2015 07:42 PM)No Zodiac Wrote: Probably related to weed. I love the concluding sentence in the article. "Other recent research shows that marijuana could reduce the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease." * - Compulsive - Jan 14, 2015 There won't be a cure for any Chronic disease because the government wants to keep all the funding. * - emjay - Jan 14, 2015 (Jan 14, 2015 09:19 PM)Minecraftzzzzzz Wrote: I love the concluding sentence in the article. My opinion, F*ck em. Listen to your body. * - GreenZ - Jan 14, 2015 The world is expanding, soon there will be a cure for vicious diseases. I can't wait. :D * - GamersUnited - Jan 15, 2015 If this is real. I can't wait til it is given to the public. My step mother is slowly deteriorating suffering from alzheimer... She's only 49 and has it already, I hope she can recover. * - Vadamee - Jan 15, 2015 I've read that alzheimers is actuAlly a relatively new disease. Like people back before the 1700's didn't have it. Strange * - Arrakis - Jan 15, 2015 I wonder what else the body uses the EP2 protein for? surely it serves a purpose other than to stop the brain from properly functioning. * - Bαng - Jan 15, 2015 (Jan 15, 2015 08:27 PM)Raymond "Red" Reddington Wrote: I wonder what else the body uses the EP2 protein for? surely it serves a purpose other than to stop the brain from properly functioning. I remember reading that it regulates the destruction of excess cells in the body and that Stanford is also looking into this as a cure for cancer * - Pow3r - Jan 16, 2015 (Jan 15, 2015 11:32 AM)Vadamee Wrote: I've read that alzheimers is actuAlly a relatively new disease. It is no coincidence that cancers and other diseases and disorders have risen to such prominence. |
