Your favorite Insert Song/Background Music - ·Lawliet· - Jan 15, 2015
I've thought there's many "Favorite OP/ED threads so what about insert songs? And background music?.
For those unfamiliar with the terms:
Insert Songs:
Quote:Incidental Music (IM), also called "insert songs" or "featured songs", are songs or musical pieces that occur within the body of the anime. They differ from Background Music (BGM) in the amount of "attention" they are given - for instance, there is seldom any dialogue over IM, whereas dialogue frequently occurs over BGM.- Anime News Network
Insert songs can't be 'Opening' or 'Ending' themes.
They are sometimes played by the main anime characters.
Background Music:
This is pretty self-explanatory. Background music is basically the OST of an anime (not including OP/ED again). Its the music played within the anime in the background, these are mostly instrumental.
For instance, my favorite insert song: (Click to View)
My favorite BM (I can't really decide, there's just too many so I'll randomly pick one of them): (Click to View)

I am on my phone right now so I can't post a YouTube link, but my favorite is Hill of Sorrow from Guilty Crown.

Not sure about my favorite insert song as I haven't really heard any memorable ones, but for BGM it's easily most of the Madoka OST.
I really don't like limiting myself to a single favorite out of those but if I had to pick one it'd probably be this:

Thought about it for a few minutes and I can't really decide on a favourite insert song.
As for BGM... was hard to decide as well but this is the first thing that came to mind:
