XHTML or HTML5? - Zealot - Jan 20, 2015

I can't decide between the two. I want to build websites from scratch, so which should I go with? There are some differences, but I also want to learn to write deface pages and SQL Injections (other website/forum hacking methods).

I'm also going to eventually learn: CSS,JavaScript,PHP,MySQL; so I can build more nice looking and working websites/forums.

xHTML is just a standard set of rules, stuff like "Don't type your tag names in capital letters, use double-quotes for attributes, etc.." - if you learn HTML5, you will be learning xHTML as a by-product, just a few extra fancy tags and JS API's. So this is a bit of a silly question. Just learn HTML5.

I won't need HTML5 than, XHTML will work just fine. Thanks for the advice though.

Just use xHTML5, don't learn something old when you can directly go with the latest version.
