Best Facebook Viral Plugin? - ediblefruit - Jan 23, 2015

I'm looking to get into Facebook viral traffic and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for plugins that have worked for you. Also, a thread for useful Wordpress plugins for CPA marketing. Thanks in advance guys.

Are you looking for share buttons? Or like, a lightbox popup that encourages people to like your page? There's no such thing as a "viral" plugin. The entire concept of "viral" is based on psychology not plugins lol.

Your top priority should be making sure all of your pages load in less than 3 seconds (no matter what). If your content doesn't load in less than 3 seconds, most people will close it and scroll. That's bad. Use W3 Total Cache, Autoptimize and WP Smush.it to help with that. W3 will leverage browser caching (and enable gzip), Autoptimize shrinks scripts and styles and WP Smush.it optimizes images. Google them if you want to know more, I'm not an expert.

If you are looking for share buttons, Shareaholic and AddToAny are the best free plugins for sure. They have the most options for placement as well as a shortcode. The best paid ones are Monarch (have not tried) and Easy Social Share Buttons (love it but I think Monarch may be better). The paid ones are the ones that have all the fancy options like an after-share popup that tells them to like your page, different button styles, etc. Shareaholic has a bunch of features you tend to only find in paid share button plugins but the customization of them is limited and a lot of the plugin controls are on the Shareaholic website rather than your own WP panel. I thought that was retarded so I uninstalled it.

You will also need to use Facebook's Open Graph Protocol to make your title and featured image etc show up in the share window. This is a huge pain in the dick on Wordpress because so many plugins come with the functionality pre-packaged and when two plugins are setting open graph tags, facebook doesn't show your stuff right. If you have Jetpack for WP, it has open graph tags, if you have Yoast SEO, it also has open graph tags. Some sharing plugins will include open graph tags... Go through your settings for every SEO/social plugin and make sure you only have OG tags enabled on ONE plugin. Experiment to find which one works the best with your setup.

Other than that you have to post a ton of shit and share it to facebook all the time. Get your friends on board, don't tell them it's your website (promote your brand, not yourself..), shamelessly self-promote on other facebook pages... Steal FB accounts and share your stuff on them haha.. Use your imagination. Good luck.
