Priority #1 for Omnicoin - Omniscient - Feb 10, 2015

We need to get onto a larger exchange. I tried previously but no luck. So we've rode the AllCrypt train for some time. But I think it's time we renew the effort to get listed at a more well-known exchange like Cryptsy.

Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, or contacts to make this happen?

It's probably best to wait a few weeks before trying to get into other markets, OMC will be viewed as insecure until we have more details on how the recent breach occured.

This might seem like a bit of a stretch and definitely require a considerable amount of time and resources but what if you were to create your own currency exchange website? You are able to run this one fairly well by yourself and if you were to create and exchange site you would undoubtedly have decent people working with you ( example: the current Omnicoim staff and such) with a slight bit of advertising because of all the recent downfalls to big exchange sites, you could definitely get high rankings and a lot of users. I do apologize if this sounds stupid or uneducated in any way but it is definitely a legitimate possibility.

Mass tweet?

Get a lot of people to tweet / email, what ever way we can contact them.

They will see a big demand for the coin and hopefully accept it.

Thats the only thing I can think of atm.

I think the coin needs a fork pretty soon. You were saying it is over 60% mined.

Security on exchange sites is a nightmare. It's like an unregulated bank essentially. Huge liability for really no gain in this case.

I think that after OMC is stabilized again, we should set a three day period out there to email/tweet/call/contact a chosen exchange. We could easily get a few hundred people to participate.

Pretty much this. But it can't really be our social media section:p has to be legitimate users.
Even a copy and paste template for emails and tweets

I think if we start the coin fresh and tweet at Cryptsy with retweets provided by me, they'll look at how many people support the idea and take it into consideration.

Just a thought.

A fresh coin? Again? Hell no. What's wrong with the currency now? Nothing.

I agree we should look into bigger exchanges. Mass tweeting isn't a bad idea.

Yes my friend I only provide the highest quality services. (I'm not trying to promote myself. Just giving an idea and backing up my claims that the quality is good.)

* - ναρє - Feb 10, 2015

You could use real retweet promotion such as shout outs and panels.

We could even contact multiple exchanges.

* - Legion. - Feb 10, 2015

I think that we need to get into other forums/communities before worrying about getting into other exchanges.

* - Illuminatiž - Feb 10, 2015

We could all tweet at Bter. (https://twitter.com/btercom)
They actually have a voting going on, they add coins that get lots of votes apparently.
It says this on the page; "You are welcome to recommend new coins to us by submitting a ticket at here with the coin announcement link. "
Here's what it looks like: Spoiler (Click to View)

I think if we had tons of members tweet at them and submit tickets they'd actually add the coin.
Only thing that sucks is that you have to have some kind of small exchange history.
It's worth checking it out, sign up and look at the voting.
