Should I setup a git and project management system for users - DeadCode - Feb 12, 2015 Hey HF! I'm wondering if I should setup a free JIRA and Stash (GIT) installation for all of you. I've seen some members code things in group and there was no real project management system out there, to keep trac Should I offer a free one for the members? Here is a pic of JIRA's project management system: https://i.imgur.com/DMsz4yh.png Pic of Stash (Git management system better than GitHub): https://i.imgur.com/m44tGKa.png * - ~Dec - Feb 13, 2015 I use Jira at work and it sucks ass. What value does Stash have over Bitbucket, though? Honestly, I'd rather just use Gitlab + MagnumCI for running tests. Project Management systems are cool and all, but if you think about it they're not actually necessary if there's a decent enough issue tracker on your repo system. Otherwise just maintaining a Google Doc with SCRUM methodology works just as well (in fact, when I went to my last tech meetup, Petra Cross, a team lead at Google, spoke about how they actually do this at the Google offices, it was pretty interesting) (her boobs were also pretty interesting) * - DeadCode - Feb 14, 2015 (Feb 13, 2015 07:25 PM)~Dec Wrote: I use Jira at work and it sucks ass. Although private repos are paid at times (Like GitHub). I'd just want to offer these for free to members. * - ~Dec - Feb 15, 2015 Gitlab is an open source Github clone that you can run yourself on a server of your own - it's free and way better than Bitbucket if you need more than 5 team members per project. |
