Cursor moving on its own! - TrollFacedManiac - Feb 14, 2015

Hello, recently I bought a natec genesis g33 mouse, when I have it like 5cm above my desk the cursor starts moving on its own and also happens when my mouse is not moving at all. It's really annoying, is this a crappy mouse (As a model) or defective?

Have you tried using another mouse?

I know some optical mice do that, just don't lift it off the pad. you could also turn sensitivity settings down a bit but there is not much other than that you can do. If it bugs you that much you should just invest in a new mouse honestly

Speaking from expierience, some optical mice move like that. I reccomend getting a checkup over at the whitehat section, just in case. But try not to lift it off your desk. Unless you move from spot to spot, it doesn't work well tracking wise.

Try cleaning your mouse pad (If you have one)
Make sure you're not infected too.

I believe you've been ratted.
PM user Null or Farfar for a check up.

He's probably not ratted, but it never hurts to have a checkup.

If it runs on a ball, then most likely the ball is misplaced or jammed in that case get it replaced. If it runs on a laser then its probably the laser itself. Do some research or get online help.

Jackpot.
Give this man a price, as he is the only one with the answer.

Its the surface, sertain finishing coatings can reflect and you end up with a walking mouse. Which is why I preffer cloth based mousepads.

I have seen this before, Your mouse is possessed. Call a fucking priest or something.

I suspect that you dont have a mouse pad. If you dont have then get one with a textile surface, not plastic.
Any surface that dont reflect is ok.

Ciocan, not to be an asshole, but fuck off out of the section. You have no idea what you're talking about.

"Any surface that don't reflect" how about a transparent glass slab

Maybe if you put the slab over the mouse or replace mouse pad with a phone book 😝

That's the answer. I had this problems often, since a few years I don't use mousepads. If you use a mousepad: Throw it away. If you don't: Clean your desk.
