Can people post links to some tutorials? - aldypalypso - Feb 25, 2015 Hello there. I'd like to create my own theme. I've already been recommended to watch Mavamaartens' and Earn's tutorials, but I faced two problems. 1. Mavamaartens used the themebase made by Aeonhack. I want to create my own theme without having to use his code. 2. Earn's tutorial wasn't extensive. He showed us how you can create the container but that was about it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad tutorial, I'm just looking for more. So do any of you guys have anything at all I can look at? I really want to create my own theme, but I can't seem to find any tutorials anywhere. * - Only3 - Feb 25, 2015 2 lines under ur tread u have a good example that dont use themebase learn the code https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4148804 also u can find here more https://hackforums.net/search.php?action=results&sid=a7f0b583d973c1ac7c56e5c3f9ca46b0&sortby=lastpost&order=desc * - aldypalypso - Feb 25, 2015 Copying the code isn't going to help me and learning the code would take ages. It's a waste of time when it can be done much faster by reading or viewing a tutorial series. I'd prefer tutorials where the code is explained instead of just source codes. * - Only3 - Feb 25, 2015 then u will need to wait until some1 create another tut and who knows if it will be good for u 😊 * - dex73r - Feb 25, 2015 (Feb 25, 2015 11:13 AM)aldypalypso Wrote: Copying the code isn't going to help me and learning the code would take ages. They will, but you are taking the risk you will learn it bad way, then its hard to re-learn it, you also may not understand it like you mastered exact function. I recommend you (e)books. There is not better feeling than having a book , the material in your hands and just reading it, learning from it, day by day, spending your time for good thing, you know? If you want something really deeply explained, go for books. * - Rawrrasaurus - Feb 25, 2015 There are tutorials everywhere. Here is a good place to start: http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/ * - aldypalypso - Feb 25, 2015 Ah right, I forgot all about e-books. I'll try to search for some. Do you recommend any, dex73r? Also, Rawrrasaurus, I can't find any tutorials about how to make themes on that website. Could you perhaps link me one or two? * - Only3 - Feb 25, 2015 good site examples http://www.java2s.com/Code/CSharp/2D-Graphics/Catalog2D-Graphics.htm maybe little old http://read.pudn.com/downloads163/ebook/740032/GDIProg2002.pdf google gdi programing pdf u will find more * - Rawrrasaurus - Feb 26, 2015 (Feb 25, 2015 03:12 PM)aldypalypso Wrote: Ah right, I forgot all about e-books. I did not read the entire OP, like I should have...anyway, have you thought about learning Blend/WPF? * - aldypalypso - Feb 26, 2015 Yes. In fact, people keep recommending me to learn WPF because it's so customizable and easy to work with, but I just think I'd learn a lot by creating themes the hard way. This is actually more of a "test myself" thing than a "I want to be a pro". Also, thanks for those links, Only3. They're helpful. |
