Assalam Alaikum wa rahamatullah wa barakatu,
My uncle & aunt breed dogs for cattle herding purposes, their dam recently had a litter of three pups, one is completely black, other two aren't & neither the stud nor the dam are black. I went to my aunt's house recently, the pups are now 6 weeks old & sooo cute!!!
But my parents are staunch Muslims, & are advicing my uncle & aunt to kill the pure black puppy, by poisoning or drowning it.
Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) says that is what should be done to pure black dogs!
Sunan of Abu Dawud
Book 16, Number 2839:
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mughaffal:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Were dogs not a species of creature I should command that they all be killed; but kill every pure black one.
I find the little puppy very sweet, it comes to me when called & lets me pick it up, how to save it?
