RATs, Disadvantages and Advantages? - Fitzzyyy - Mar 29, 2015 Could someone please tell me some advantages and disadvantages of using a RAT? * - MURKER - Mar 29, 2015 (Mar 29, 2015 04:05 AM)Fitzzyyy Wrote: Could someone please tell me some advantages and disadvantages of using a RAT? Advantage: Full control of a target's computer, what more could you want? Disadvantage: Highly illegal. Not the most stable thing in the world, it'll show up on most anti-virus engines (even if crypted) in time. There may be a variety of other issues that can cause you to lose clients. Also they require your target to download and run them meaning you have to be creative on how to complete this task. * - Nuclear3mbargo - Mar 29, 2015 Compared with what? I mean, how would you find the pros and cons if you can't compare it with something, RAT stands from remote administration tool, and it's perfect for remote administration. * - Comedic - Mar 29, 2015 Yeah, there are different cons for different types of rats. Darkcomet's alright, but at the same time it's old and unstable. So the newer rats are something to take a look at. * - Raz3r - Mar 29, 2015 Pros: You can grab their passwords, upload silent miners or just screw with them. Cons: They're quite easy to trace back. If it's not crypted properly their AV will pick it up. It's illegal. |
