Latest Physical Omnicoin News & Suggestions - FantaŠec - Apr 8, 2015

We have definitively decided to sell the Omnicoin's pre-loaded with OMC. We are taking suggestions on how much OMC per coin to pre-load, as well as security suggestions and design suggestions. We have quite a few ideas on how to prevent fraud and security tampering; however, we would love to hear the communities suggestions.

We do not have a substantial amount of OMC ready to begin to pre-load onto our first batch of OMC, so we are asking for any donations from the community to allow us to develop our first batch of coins. We plan to have this selling and in the market within a few months (preferably by May or June), the more donations we receive, the quicker we can create more coins as well as develop our website for it. Thanks!

I'd go for 1337 OMC. It's only $3.5 or so.

Since you have to print the actual keys onto the coin, it's a possibility that you could keep the private keys and later take OMC from the user. That's one huge security / trust risk that needs to be addressed. Personally I'd only use this as a novelty item. I wouldn't keep any more than a few dollars of OMC on it just for sake of security and I'd advise others to do the same.

Also, how are we even supposed to use the coin as a wallet? There is only sending support to QR codes on Android right now. Anyone wanting to send coins would have to use a 3rd party app to scan the private key and then enter it into their wallet. At that point it wouldn't really be a paper wallet anymore.

We addressed the majority of those issues and have a plan on how to use it. And the coin would basically be a deposit only account until they want to add it to their wallet and at that point it would become an active wallet. If you want to discuss more, Skype me @ Frostin8897
We don't want to disclose everything publicly yet.

Well, about the amount to pre-load, wouldn't it be best to let each costumer decide how much he wants to pre-load his coins with??

Yes, but consistency is a major part in the marketplace. I think that people would prefer knowing all OMC comes pre-loaded with a set amount than pondering about how much may or may not be on the coin. I would appreciate more suggestions though, thanks.
