Safe to Upgrade from OSX Maverick to OSX Yosemite with this stuff...? - xiipord - Apr 19, 2015 Hi, Just wondering i'm on OSX maverick and OSX yosemite is sexy as all hell, but last time I upgraded my osx my bootcamp partition was deleted, as well as adobe after effects cc and some others wouldn't work properly. Any one out there who has upgraded from maverick to yosemite with some "unlegal" programs and bootcamp that works well? thanks! best of luck * - Harbo5 - Apr 20, 2015 BootCamp and upgrading aren't two things that go together well. Call Apple and ask, to start. I reccomend following these steps to back up you Windows partition, but you're going to need a harddrive that's formatted to NTFS, so you might have to buy one or reformat a current drive (Ask if you need instructions for this). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/back-up-programs-system-settings-files#1TC=windows-7 Aside from that, I can't offer any other advice, since I haven't done this personally. As for the illegal files, are you just refering to torrenting? If so, that won't stop you from upgrading. If you're running and illegitamte version of OS X, I have no idea, if that's the case, just stay on 10.9 * - xiipord - Apr 20, 2015 (Apr 20, 2015 04:50 AM)Harbo5 Wrote: BootCamp and upgrading aren't two things that go together well. No i have torrented versions of adobe software and cinema 4d along with some other stuff, that's what I meant by illegal, also when i upgraded to OSX maverick some software wouldn't work * - SpraTtz - Apr 21, 2015 I have the full adobe package CC and it is running perfect on OSX Yosemite - i dont know if it is your torrent which is not working * - ๖ۣۜSolace - Apr 21, 2015 Should all be fine, assuming that you upgrade the correct partition. |
