If you have seen "The Hunger Games" pleas help. - Configz - Apr 21, 2015 Hey HF. I could use a little help with a question from my assignment. the question is : - The significance of the Hunger Games and its value in terms of entertainment and as a reminder I have no idea what to write about this, so if someone could help me with something that would be great! :-) thanks in advance guys. - Configz * - .russo - Apr 22, 2015 Are you writing just about the first book? I mean you could write about how the government in the book is oppressive, all that - how each district seemed to be separated into different economic classes each with individual qualities (i.e violent, poor, high class, etc.), or how Katniss's refusal to kill her friend Peeta in the end is an example of _____. Just a few ideas. * - #FFFFFF Φ - Apr 22, 2015 Write about how boring the book is and how it sets a tone that it's ok to kill people in massive arenas for the entertainment of a nation. * - An0nym0u555 - Apr 22, 2015 Say something like the fact that someone (Katniss) in a particular area or situation is the beginning of a revolution. Someone and something has to trigger these revolutions (in this case Katniss' sister chosen for the games, if i remember correctly). The Arabian Spring (the revolutions in Syria, Egypt, etc.) is a great example of that. Let me know if I was able to help you :) * - webdev77 - Apr 22, 2015 The Hunger Games are entertainment for the Capitol. The Capitol forces people to fight to the death simply because they can and think it is entertaining to watch people kill each other. As a reminder, they are supposed to reinforce the idea that the Capitol is the supreme ruler of the land and that nobody should dare cross them else they will be killed or somehow severely punished. * - Eternal. - Apr 22, 2015 Entertainment is a distraction from the misery the Capitol is causing, as well as a reminder of their power. * - Unhinged Pineapple - Apr 22, 2015 I suppose you could talk about how much it has influenced people today, particularly teens and young adults. You could also talk about its influence on the film industry because of how popular it was and how it can influence films later on. I mean sure, Suzanne Collins probably did get the idea for it from various places but it will still influence future novels and films. |
