Oops! Something was spilled. - MuggleStruggles - Apr 26, 2015

I allowed a coworker to borrow my laptop for a project they needed to look over. Well they were eating ramen and spilled the noodle juice all over my laptop's keyboard and the surrounding table. They left the power on and continued to hunt for stuff to clean it. It turned off on its own right then and there. I got ahold of it shortly after, cracked open the casing and dried out the juices. I now have the problem of figuring out why the keyboard and mouse(pad) does not work. I've checked and they are plugged in, but it is as if they aren't registering.

Any ideas? I managed to power it on and use a USB mouse to login

I have not, but I have had to toy worth the ribbons to get it to pickup and allow power as well, so perhaps that is all it needs. My hdd, monitor, fans, etc seem to be working fine

Yeah - I use to co-own a rather large internet cafe and usually that was all it took.
Too be fair though more often than not we just replace the lot with spare parts we had lying around - so many trashed machines.
Nightmares for real. Try reaching your arm into a pile of plastic disassembled laptops to grab the one keyboard you are after.
I guess that was me being lazy not wanting to sort through them - but still ouch. The scars remain :D
Good luck anyways dude. Let us know what works and what the outcome was.

Also just quickly - have you tried Occulus Repairum? I know it usually only works on glasses but possibly get Hermione to help :D

I'll give it a try for sure. And that definitely only works on glasses.
