pm priority levels - Trenchguns - Apr 27, 2015 Not sure how useful it would be for most members, but those who get a ton of pms might find it useful. What if people could set a priority level for their pm? It might add a tag(colored or blue like other tags) or some other defining feature based on low, medium, or high(could be other things like normal, important, very important) There could be an option to sort pms by importance as well. Pros: makes management of mass amounts of pms easier Those who need to get messages through more quickly can do so Cons(and potential solutions): hard to implement(with all the new automatons, omni has a little more time to work on new features) Most people don't need it(but those who do will find it very useful, I guess actually staff would find it most useful, but there's probably a big handful of regular users who would too) It's not that useful(there's no rush to get it done then, no one will be pushing for it or be too disappointed to have it come way down the line) Abuse of it(warning levels for abuse? Or suspension of pmming? This isn't up to me, but maybe some possible punishment, w/e staff chooses cuz I know members can't suggest punishments and what not) After writing through the pros and cons, I'm having second thoughts about this. But I'll suggest it so in a year or more of omni gets bored and finishes whatever he's working on maybe he could challenge himself with this. Input is appreciated, I'm expecting a lot of negativity since this feature isn't too important/useful, but it's just an idea. So be as honest as you want. Tbh, if someone has something positive to say I'd be surprised. Thanks for reading this wall of text, and have an awesome day! * - 'Cynical - Apr 27, 2015 There's no real point in this... Not to mention, everyone would just flag their PMs as very important.. * - Hopsin - Apr 27, 2015 (Apr 27, 2015 11:00 AM)๖ۣۜRoku Wrote: There's no real point in this... I completely agree with this user. It's pointless IMO. * - Trenchguns - Apr 27, 2015 (Apr 27, 2015 11:00 AM)๖ۣۜRoku Wrote: There's no real point in this... Yea pointed both these out in cons. But if people were to do that, then you could just ignore them(add to ignore list) I'm sure what they say would be as immature as what they're doing anyway. * - iDuL - Apr 27, 2015 I don't see any real significance this can have on the site, although it is a solid idea. * - Trenchguns - Apr 27, 2015 (Apr 27, 2015 11:17 AM)iDuL Wrote: I don't see any real significance this can have on the site, although it is a solid idea. Guess it would just be mostly useful for staff. But I'm sure some more people would like it. Could be added to the back of the list of things to do, or just added to"things to do when I'm bored" which probably won't get done any time soon. But the idea's there anyways. * - webdev77 - Apr 27, 2015 Only if this comes with an option to block all PMs marked as urgent. * - NotUsingAnymore - Apr 27, 2015 Well most people will probably see their PM's as important. So why should there be given warnings just because you don't find it important. That is the real problem with this idea. Were exactly would the lines of the different tags go? I would say that is for each individual. There are potential uses for it, however the negatives shines over the positives. Simply because most people will see their PM's as important. Which they may be to them. * - Kogan - Apr 29, 2015 Requires core modification to MyBB, doubt this will ever happen. Great suggestion in theory, never happening though. * - Omniscient - Apr 30, 2015 I have a better idea that maybe one day I can implement. Thanks for suggestion though but I can't use it. |
