Black Shades - Looking back 1 year - Armada - May 20, 2015 Checking my facebook feed this morning I got the daily notification of my historical posts for today and noted as of Yesterday it has been a full year since the Black Shades RAT network take down. I took an opportunity to sit back and reflect on everything that has happened between then and now. In specific after a post I published on here a few days back relating to this topic. [ Located here ] In this reflection I was left wondering, What have people learned from the Black Shades Bust? After the bust happened what security policies or practices did you change yourself to avoid becoming another statistic? * - Autocorrect - May 20, 2015 I wasn't affected. #DCforlyf * - Coton Pker - May 20, 2015 I learned long before the actual takedown that using RAT's was going to be dangerous and pursued by government agencies. approx. 3 years ago when xvisceral went to prison for extortion and fraud because of RAT's. * - Lovesosa - May 20, 2015 risks are always here, risks are evrey where if u walk on the street u can get hit by an bus its always here * - Crab - May 20, 2015 Ah good times. The many threads posted here about visits from men in black suits. * - pirate127 - May 20, 2015 Nice discussion dude, thanks ;) * - Levi - May 20, 2015 I miss seeing xvisceral around honestly. * - Meow - May 20, 2015 Damn, that brings up some memories from HF,fucking blackshades.. 😊 * - Fleckens - May 20, 2015 This made me change my mindset. We all know that there is the risk of getting caught, because what most of us are doing is illegal. I also know that everyone wants to milk everything to the latest penny, and that's where the problem is. I do have respect for the creators, as they worked hard to build their software. But by doing everything about it to prevent leaking, we went too far. As you described in the other topic, we're making it easy to let them catch us. And indeed, there is non anonymity anymore. |
